Basketball and football is on probation for three years and 10 players are suspended 8 games but they can choose which games to serve. Basketball will have one scholarship revoked in the 2021 class and football has two in 2022 and 2021

Ummmm......which players lol?

Can't tell if serious. Wouldn't think you could stretch out suspensions but maybe you can?

If it's true we can choose the games, we should choose the following:
4 nonconference games (likely wins regardless)
Arkansas, Kentucky, and Ole Miss (likely wins regardless)
Alabama (likely loss regardless)

Tennessee, LSU, A&M, and Auburn are the 4 games that would be impacted the most by suspended players.

You might switch Ole Miss and Auburn if you think Auburn is a loss regardless.

If true, and that's all there is, take note:

This is what exemplary cooperation looks like.

I'll assume you are joking (what with the asterisks and all) and add my complete agreement. If this is the outcome, then it's done, it's over, and we don't have to kill our football recruiting with all the speculation surrounding a potential/occurring NCAA investigation.

This is what responsible adults do when faced with issues - they take responsibility and punishment, then move on.

The university and the enforcement staff used ranges identified by the Division I membership-approved infractions penalty guidelines to agree upon Level I-mitigated penalties for the university. The enforcement staff also used the guidelines to identify a penalty for the former tutor. Those penalties, approved by the Committee on Infractions, are detailed below:

  • A fine of $5,000, plus 1% each of the football and men’s basketball budgets.
  • A reduction of two football scholarships during each of the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.
  • A reduction of one men’s basketball scholarship during the 2020-21 academic year.
  • A reduction of four football official visits from the program’s four-year average of 40 visits during the 2019-20 academic year.
  • A reduction of two men’s basketball official visits from the program’s four-year average of 10 visits during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 rolling two-year period.
  • A prohibition of football unofficial visits during one home contest for the 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.
  • A prohibition of men’s basketball unofficial visits during two home contests for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years.
  • A reduction of football evaluation days by two in the fall 2019 and 10 in spring 2020.
  • A reduction of men’s basketball recruiting-person days by six in the spring of 2020.
  • Three years of probation.
  • A vacation of records in which student-athletes competed while ineligible. The university must provide a written report containing the contests impacted to the NCAA media coordination and statistics staff within 45 days of the public decision release.
  • A disassociation of the former tutor.
  • All involved student-athletes must conduct one rules education session on the consequences of academic misconduct.
  • Participation in the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals program review and Academic Integrity Assessment process.
  • A 10-year show-cause order for the former tutor. During that period, any NCAA member school employing her must restrict her from any athletically related duties unless it shows cause why the restrictions should not apply.

Joking in a sense that some people always Bracky every time we get in trouble...

But in this instance it seems we self-reported, took care of the issue, and kept sanctions to a barely noticeable minimum*.

* barely noticeable pending release of names

No post season impacts. That’s good.

Guessing we’ll be vacating some basketball games though.

It looks like we'll be vacating wins and 10 football players will be suspended for 8 games this season. can't be stretched out.

I wonder who the 10 players are...we've heard some starters were rumored.

Fortunately it's not a program killer, but depending on who's out, we could lose a couple games because of this.

I've heard: Willie Gay, Dolla Bill and then RPO said "mostly RS freshman."

I’m mad as 17. Where are the names? If Gay is one of them, we have to vacate every win from last year, correct? 3 years probation so we have to be ultra careful in everything we do. Lose scholarships. What a bunch of ********.(the cheaters)

I have heard that the tutor was MSU student, but a OM fan, and did this on purpose. Rumor only, cannot confirm.

Let me be clear, the names I listed are names I commonly see listed by posters across multiple boards. I have no inside info.

It’s the AD’s fault that it happened with the tutor and also to the Dept.’s credit that we cleaned up our mess and the damage was controlled. Had we made the NCAA chase us they’d have brought an *** whipping with them.

Glad and it’s finally over and it didn’t park a cloud over recruiting for a couple of years.

Most are RS freshman. The only thing that really matters in all of this are the 2 starters. Everything else is window dressing. It’s really not that bad, folks. Good job by our athletic department

Certainly better than Ole Miss' probation. And definitely better than self-imposed destruction that Jackie imposed, which was where we were headed had Mullen stayed. I mean let's face it, Moorhead is building the team for 2021 and 2022, when Shrader is in command and the 2018 and 2019 classes are upperclassmen.

Could have been worse. Incredibly stupid on our part. Whoever oversees the tutors should be fired. You just can’t let this happen.

Nah, we didn't get any easier penalties than we likely would have gotten if we hadn't cooperated. Mizzou got way worse because they were on probation. What we got was disproportionate to the actual offense. The "*** whipping" would have been the cloud over our recruiting because of potential sanctions, not the actual sanctions.

Now, the players might have gotten off a little easier than if we hadn't cooperated. Might would have lost their entire season instead of 70%. But for the most part, the NCAA is continuing their consistent inconsistency with the application of punishments.

I am furious. I have no sympathy for the players involved, they are lucky they didn't get kicked out of school, and if this team struggles this year then they can look in the mirror and blame themselves for it. I'm fine with how the university handled it, this is bad but it could've been a lot worse.

Why in the hell are that many football players taking a Chemistry course?

Seriously who's our academic advisor? And hopefully they are no longer employed. A bunch of football players in a Chemistry class is a recipe for this nonsense. **** why didn't we just let them take Pre-Law while we were at it?

I’d sit them all against Bama.

Need to be at full strength against Auburn and OM.
