Just saw a nice little nugget. Moving forward, the higher seeded team in post-season play will be the home team. No more flip-flopping between home and visitor. Makes sense!!

I like this change, except when it comes to a higher seed coming up from the loser’s bracket.

For example, in a 4 team regional, if the 2-seed wins its first two games and then faces the 1-seed who has fought back out of the loser’s bracket, I think the 2-seed should have the home field advantage in that game.

But if the 1-seed wins that matchup to set up a winner take all game, the higher seed should get home field advantage for that final game.

In those scenarios it may not play out like that. The way I read it sounded more like the structure for regionals, supers, etc.
