Seeding? Imagine we end up being the best 6 seed and end up in Des Moines instead of a 2-3 hour drive up to Albany as a 5 seed because of this.

It's an absurd decision that is inconsistent with similar games all over the country this season.
I'll be there wherever we are. Considering I don't have a car a flight probably easiest mode of transit.

This is about appeasing Michigan State and their potential resume.

A) If they win the game, it counts as a Road Win, Q1 win.....

B) It is technically a home game for RU. I know it's not the RAC, but it's in our radius, against a conference opponent.

C) Any mention of two separate conferences playing a game in Milwaukee (Stanford vs Wisconsin) or Gonzaga vs Alabama in Birmingham, are non league games.

I don't think we need to find any more motivation to fill the seats and show up. But it is definitely looking and feeling like a Michigan State lean, in terms of balancing things out a bit.

I don't think it's going to hurt RUs resume and RU as a program is going to benefit by playing outside the RAC. In the long run, I wouldn't want to be in Michigan States shoes on Saturday, but they did have a full week off (could be good or bad) and RU had a glorified scrimmage last night vs overmatched Minnesota.

Let's play the game and tee it up
...!!!

We're blatantly getting screwed. But sure, will stop sticking up for our program now ("complaining").

How are we getting screwed? Our mindset should be no different now then it was before this “news” broke. Shouldnt effect the way we play at all.

A home game in front of 18000 seats instead of 9000 is huge for our program. If we’re truly NY’s team…truly a top 25 team….the place should be rockin

It would most likely be a Q1 win for MSU regardless of home/away/neutral

Since this is considered a home game now at MSG, does this impact our ability to get placed in the East Regional in the tournament, since the games are played at MSG?

Fonseca’s quote:

Essentially, Rutgers is playing a home game without the benefits of hosting on its home court.

Damning!!! That’s why this is so wrong and so stupid. It should never ever happen again! It’s not whining, it’s making voices heard.

Neutral court wins matter

A week ago this thread was full of complaints about playing on a neutral court. Now all the sudden neutral court matters……..sigh.

Again, let’s just win. We wanna prove we’re a top 25 team? We shouldn’t have an issue winning wherever we play. If this is an issue….we ain’t too 25

The court we're playing on is not any less neutral than it was yesterday.... it's just how it's going to count in NET (which is to say, a Q2 game instead of a Q1 game). The court is the same court... it's just one benefit of the game being stripped away.

difference between Q2 and Q1 is pretty big.

We’ll be fine either way. Quad 1 win…quad 2 win..whatever. It’s not gonna make a huge difference in the long run.

If MSG is considered home, then when the RAC is being renovated, MSG should be our home for that season.

It's Q1 for MSU either way. Really only hurts us, doesn't help them that much.

Only thing it does for them is tallies it on the team sheet under "away" game instead of "neutral site" game. And "Away wins" are something the committee supposedly puts value on.

So, essentially, a win for MSU is a tiny bit better looking for them, and a win for Rutgers is a tiny bit worse looking for us, as far as the black-and-white of the team sheets.

If a "home" game at MSG prevents us from placement in the East Regional, this decision also potentially strips a chance at playing a 2nd weekend tournament game in our own backyard.

Our losses to SHU and Temple a much bigger factor in striping us from that

The most impactful consequence of this change is that the game becomes a Quad 2 game for RU instead of a Quad 1. This could have real consequences regarding seeding.
