NCAA needs to address the officiating problem as a top priority

[Drcatfan]

Officiating has decided too many games in the tournament. At the end of the game, you want no one to even remember the officiating.

The officiating has determined the outcome of some key games including it appears it will determine the National Champioship.

There are a lot of fouls because these teams foul a lot. I know people hate these foul fests that we see but you can't let these games turn into football games. If the refs continue to call games like this then teams will eventually adjust.

[Drcatfan]

I do believe one rule that would help would be adding a 6th foul like the NBA

So then we'd have 65 fouls per game average as opposed to 50...adding a 6th just means the refs will call more.

If the NCAA actually cared about getting it right, they would've done this years ago. They have an agenda, so they haven't.

[BWCatsFan22]

Ruined the tournament this year. Just horrible!

[wildcat1515]

Meeks and Zags went for ball on ground and Meeks hand was out of bounds before whistle blown. shouldn't that be OB?

I saw it too. You're correct.

[efudexto]

I said the same thing. He would have been if he was wearing darker blue

[mrdavisanddd]

It would have been on any other team

[Ugoff]

Yeah but that would have hurt UNC's chances to call that right there.

[JStaff21]

Meeks must be the illegitimate child of a NCAA chairman

I think you might have these guys figured out. UNC was winning this thing from the tip of the first game.

[Fitch44]

I had to rewind and watch it a couple times. So sad, that is the only thing the ref is looking at and he doesn't blow the whistle. So FU**ING CROOKED!

[gracetoyou]

Play of the game....again by an official....again in UNC's way!

[coolioo1]

IF few was a good coach he would have demanded a replay which they would have rewarded and it would have been given to Gonzaga.

That photo says it all.

Not sure that's reviewable. It wasn't called out but a jump ball.

Would have been Zags ball down 1. Wow even Meeks kind of looked up at ref the same time he did it and knew.

[*CatinIL*]

Obvious missed call that goes UNC's way...shocking.

[ManitouDan_anon]

Who is that guy in the black pants standing there watching that ? Popcorn Salesman ? Michael Jordan ? Oh Oh Oh wait .. a NCAA referee ? What a damn joke .

Hardly doubt few saw that Meeks hand was out of bounds from the other end of the court with minimally 6 players blocking his view of the play.

[wildcat1515]

They were still trying to get possession of ball, I guess it can't be reviewed but I hope it gets shown everywhere how bad the call was.

Or like the kid in the commercial and Meeks could have told the ref it was out on him..lol

[ala_kat2]

Wait! Can't we email the NCAA and have them review the video footage and assess NC a four shot penalty ala Lexi Thompson yesterday?

If that could be done, UNC would not have made it past the sweet 16.

In the refs defense, he didn't have a good angle [laughing]

[BaronReborn84_rivals62172]

I've never been one to blame refs for anything. You play better than the other team and don't let the refs be a matter. However, this tournament has changed my mind completely.

That ref just tweeted, it wasn't his call............

That is what I was thinking. Reviewable or not, the ref was looking right at it.

Things go their way one game, can be accidental. Happens twice it's a pattern. Happens 3-4 times and it's intentional.

It has been sickening. I used to make fun of the crazies who blamed refs for everything. They are still crazy, but there is some legit blatant cheating going down with the NCAA tourney.

[FilsonCat]

Why would the NCAA change anything? Everything went exceedingly well from Darth Emmert's perspective.

This is the picture of the tournament. So much garbage.
