Sophomore Jenkins from F. Dickinson is the type guard we need. Hope Hill can duplicate his skills. The Big schools missed on him.

Look forward to Temple and Belmont soon.

Those Jersey kids are tough. Lots of good players to choose from there. Hope Temple can get one for the AAC. If they play like they can in Philly they will be OK.

Hard for me to pull against Rick Byrd. He won me a Scotty Camron Newport putter as my partner in a golf tournament in the 90’s. I’ve been following Belmont ever since. Having said that got to go with the conference mate —- Go TU - Temple that is.

If Shizz can’t shoot it will be a long night for Temple. But early.

Looks like the same talented/undisciplined Temple team that we spank at home every year

Poor road team, low energy at this point. Terrible interior defense. Shizz will just have try to take over.

The FR C for Belmont (Murzinski-sp?) is a pretty good player too. Very polished in the post as a shooter and as a passer. Another player in a lower level league that a lot of schools just whiffed on.

kinda wish Temple had been a 9 or 10 so I could pick against them. Closest thing to a lock in the tourney

Temple was doing pretty good in the second half then got careless with the ball then got cold from the floor and now it’s a blowout.

Looks like he redshirted last season. Assume he was a project coming out of high school who really worked in his game during his year off. Would love to have him in a TU uni.

Typical Temple. This loss doesn’t surprise me at all. Way to represent the AAC.

If Belmont’s players played for Tulsa all we’d hear about is how they’re not talented and a coach can’t get to the tournament with these guys

Belmonts conference is also significantly weaker than TUs. Let’s put some perspective here. I would still pick us to beat temple home or neutral.

Belmont is #50 in Kenpom and they got an at-large. Conference isn’t relevant. I actually don’t think we disagree on this. I’m just pretty sure the Tulsa’s talent sucks brigade would say the same about Belmont’s players if Haith had them here and couldn’t get to the tourney

He reminds me in some ways of Magnay who was a lot further along as a FR than a lot of people thought. I miss Magnay and I am starting to suspect Frank does too

Murzinski could play in the AAC and be a pretty dominant player. Aflokapali (sp?) couldn’t hang with him.

And he passed up an opportunity to get an education, and maybe prove himself on the court in 3 or 4 years and get a chance to play in the league. Even though one's chances of progression to get that opportunity are small, the payoff of playing in the league($$$) and/or getting an education, more than make it worth spending the time. Instead he goes and makes what, 80-125K for playing all 3 or 4 years in semi pro ball? Extremely impatient and shortsighted mistake. He either got bad advice or he wasn't listening to the advisor(s).

I think he missed his girlfriend and his home environment. I know if I was a 17 year old kid and got plopped down in a country a day away from home then got an offer to get paid to play pro in my home country I would jump at it also. I hate that he left us high and dry as I think last year and this year would have ended much differently with a healthy Magnay but I can understand why he did it.

It was still shortsighted, no matter how much you can see the allure or draw for him to go that way. In 20 years, if his pro career doesn't go anywhere and he just makes a little money for a short period time, he might look back at that situation and regret it.

Looks like a Buffalo-Arizona State matchup here Friday afternoon the way this game is going the first half but lots of time left.

But in 20 years he will still be in Mayberry (or the Aussie equivalent) and the girlfriend will be long gone.

I’m watching the Minn/Louisville game and it looks like WWE rasslin. Players are getting hacked, shoved and mauled all over the court. Hand checks seem to be back, as well as holding and pass interference. The only thing I haven’t seen yet is piling on.

My conclusion is the officials are “letting them play”.

Richard Pitino looks and sounds just like his dad. Let’s hope he doesn’t lie to tinker with the housekeeper and that he knows to not recruit kids with ties to adidas.
