I think most kids will just cut their playing timeline one year short. Unless you are a possible future pro in your respective sport, you're going to move into the real world in the same time frame you would have before the virus. Just my two cents.

And there may be a few who know they wont be going pro but want to enjoy one extra year. I am just thinking this will be a scholarship nightmare.

Normally athletes get 5 years to play 4. So we could have several athletes who ....with the extra year granted...could be on the team 6 years? And its not just the seniors who get an extra year? So even a fresh, soph, and junior will have a year added on? I am thinking of someone like Damian Jackson. He was a redshirt. A junior this year.

How about the grad transfers....do they get an extra year too? This is going to be a mess.

it is great for the kids that are pursuing a graduate degree...they can possibly finish the degree while on scholarship.

Playing time is a zero sum game though...there isn't anymore, so some will lose out on opportunities when others gain extra time.
