NCAA changes hosting sites announcement yet again

Per Kendall Rogers, they are announcing 20 potential sites the week of May 10th and then the actual 16 sites and seeds at regular time.

Sounds like to me a lot of school presidents and AD's started to raise hell. I think the NCAA knows they are on thin ice with the P5's. They do not wan them to break away.

Not totally sure what the point of announcing the 20 “possible” sites is if the final decision won’t be made until year end anyway. But I am glad to see that they’re going to wait until year end to nail it all down. Made no sense to determine host sites with three weeks of the season left.

I agree. This is probably what they should have announced at first. This late in the year you can usually narrow it down to potentially 20 host sites. This gives the NCAA cover to say they did something, which apparently is all that matters now.

They are a collection of dumbasses. But you announce 20 possible sites instead of 16 to reduce the chances of a #1 seed having to go on the road to pretty close to zero. Of course, the real answer is you just announce the host sites at the end of the season like you've always done. But this is a pretty big step towards the right answer than what they announced a week or two ago.
