I pray that you are asking "How are our freshmen" as it relates to just the game but I think you are asking how are freshmen on the game because you think that's how they will be in real life.

I used to love, love, love EA Sports' NCAA games. But Croom ruined it for me. Starting last year, I just couldn't pick it up. It was too depressing. I probably played NCAA09 5-6 times until Mullen was hired.

Then I started playing MSU with UF's playbook. It was OK. But it was still the same ****** players with the albatross of white helmets.

[BigMotherTucker]

build a ****** Idaho team to a national contender, and after a few years move the team to the Pac10 or something. You dont always have to play with State.

[MissStFan87]

That's one of my favorite things to do. Take over a 1 or 2-star program and build them into a power. After a couple of National Championships, move on to another crappy program.

[farley662]

They still have Pegues and Fitz on the game. And our defense is horrible. Couldn't find any of the freshman receivers and Tyler is left handed on the game. Still have the nifty stripped Croom socks as well.

[BigMotherTucker]

there are several ways to fix these issues with roster downloads and simply changing all the players socks to black mids.

[MSU124]

I really question what ea does for a year.

[farley662]

I've had it over the weekend and there seems to be a few lingering issues. When we are playing a better team, we get a 15 yard facemask on 1 out of 10 tackles. As far as the socks go, it has striped socks and full length black and white socks on the 360 version. The fact that two players who graduated are still on the game seems like that didn't really do there homework. Relf is also number 1 on the depth chart.

1 Per a poster on BDJ you have to adjust every player on the rosters socks to mids then choose the black option.
2 I totally agree about the roster issues. This is either a over site by EA or laziness, but it can be fixed by a roster download. That
3 Turn your penalties down a tad.

I havent played (or even bought) it yet, but I will... Like clockwork.

[msudogsrule01]

The guy who did the rosters for EA got fired because he sent the wrong roster file to the guys who compiled the game. The correct one is available for download from EA sports. I used it last night and it is, for the most part, spot on. Although we did go 7-5 with a 2OT win over Ole Miss in my first season on full sim (I will take that).

[farley662]

Nice. I will have to check that out after work. I actually have a picture of the game of AD. He must have been on the Subway diet because he is rather slim.

yazoo state was a powerhouse. </p>

...took them a few seasons of pounding Navy, Colgate, JSU, etc by 60 points before getting noticed.

[BigMotherTucker]

...larious!

[kibblesnbits1]

Ah a fellow Vandal, did you ever notice in last years game when it shows quick facts about each team while the game is loading it had this to say about Idaho "In 1998 as a 16 1/2 point underdog against Mississippi State, Idaho caused 6 turnovers to win the game 40-34"? I used to care about these mistakes, but it reached the comical stage many many years ago.

[jmbeck]

You could pick his hometown, favorite school, etc.

I'd create a stud running back, JMBeck, favorite school was MSU.

No matter what I did, that motherphucker always went somewhere else. This could be after 5 years of NCs by MSU.

JMBeck was the Chris Garrett of NCAA05.

[hullabaloodog]

Updated rosters can be found in the following locations (using EA Locker in the game):

PS3 - EA_CS
Xbox 360 - EASCncaa10

Download the updated roster from these gamertags.

The helmets on the controller select screen are still the old ones, but in game it's the new ones. The ESPN radio stream is pretty cool, no point really as they were talking about the All Star game a few minutes ago (as you would expect), but it gives a nice feel. Now to change all the band music over and I'll be set.

You had to create him and make his hometown somewhere in Alaska. That was the only way I could make him come to MState...

/No joke

[GoState662]

I am a loyal buyer of EA but they have pissed me off!
I am poor and only own a PS2. We have only one freshman on our whole team and he is a white left handed QB.
No Bumphis, No Fletcher Cox, No Montrell Conner!
The jumbotron is not even on the game!
When I started my dynasty a big fat black man shows up as our Coach.
Do they even know we gotta new coach?
They must know because our playbook is Florida last years.
So they gave us new helmets and charged me 40 bucks!

[ScoobaDawg]

You must still be playing last years game.

[msudogsrule01]

read my above post in this thread.

[GloryDawg]

I was over at Best Buy during launch looking at some TV's and they had the game pluged up to a i think a 50" and some guy was playing Florida at Miss State. It looked pretty good. They had the stadium down and even the goal post was off center. The uniforms looked good. I really am going to like the Maroon over white uniforms with maroon helmets.

xbox live -> ea locker or something like that, look for download rosters, enter gamer tag:
PS3: EA_CS
Xbox 360: EASCncaa10

The new ones are A LOT better.

[rugbdawg]

The game came out today.

[BigMotherTucker]

now how in the hell to i apply it?

[hullabaloodog]

[farley662]

Not impossible because I work somewhere that gets games and movies a week in advance. Part of the perks of the job are getting to watch and play the new stuff before it streets. Thanks for being a dick about it though.

[PosterFormerlyKnownAsRFAA]

Amazingly short run for such a damn good show.

[QuaoarsKing]

Or have those even been determined yet?

I was inputting all the names onto the downloaded roster for MSU, and it would be cool if the freshmen had the real numbers on there instead of made-up ones.

[615dawg]

that got movies and games in advance. Not more than a few days, but in advance. They did not come in retail packaging though.
