Lot of long shots but hopefully a few of them will pan out. At this point its pretty difficult to get 5 stars to commit. Perhaps in a year or two if all goes well.
I'm starting to wonder if this is the best we can do right now. I thought they finished off the last class pretty well given the circumstances. Maybe this staff is the best in the country at identifying and developing talent? I have no reason to believe they are or they aren't.
Of our 12 recruits not counting the kicker, only 4 or 5 look like solid power 5 football players. We have 7 players that have 0-1 other power 5 offers. I think most years you would only take 3-5 guys like that in a full class and most would be in-state guys. I listed the offers by position below. Major offers is just my opinion, but it includes teams like USC, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, Oregon, Penn State, etc.
I know everyone here loves speed, and I do too. But speed without talent just means you get to the wrong place faster. I once thought they could get this thing turned around in a couple years, but it may take 4 or 5 with so many guys that are going to need multiple years to develop. The bright side is this conference is a joke outside of 2 or 3 teams, so we may be good enough to get 6 wins and go bowling the first few years. That probably depends on how good the QB play is.
