ARTEST WAS HIT WITH A PAPER CUP!!!!!
BRAWL!!!!! THE PLAYERS ARE VICTIMIZED YET AGAIN!!!!

They deserve another 100 million for the problems they face.

You think it's OK to throw objects, whatever they may be, at players? What Ron Artest did was make all spectators, white black indifferent, think twice about the boundary that sits between the fans and the players. What sort of entitlement... to just throw something at someone and think "he can't do anything to me".. That sorta sentiment belongs at the Portland Riots.

You seem to hate the NBA for a bunch of made up reasons.. Why don't you go to a game, sit near the bench and chuck something at Joel Embiid?

Fans should not throw things on the court. If a fan throws something in the court, they should be thrown out for the game. If a player gets hit with a paper cup, he should remember he’s a millionaire that’s paid to deal with stupid **** and win basketball games. Have the fan escorted out, or ignore it all together.

Why is this so hard for people in 2020?

Having said that, I, like you, enjoyed it. Guilty as charged. As Bill Burr said, “I love watching out of shape civilians getting the **** kicked outa them by professional athletes”.

Come on you know it's not that easy. A coworker in a meeting doesn't like your idea and chucks his paper coffee cup at your head. You're not taking that ****, and you SHOULDN'T! I know I wouldn't.

I really do wonder what happens if in the future if that fan got away with throwing crap at a player. That event needed to happen to let the fans know that, yes, there are boundaries. It's no different than the internet. It's why you see me fight with so many rivals here, because I KNOW they wouldn't say this **** to 100 Kentucky fans in person. Nothing more pathetic than that.

Someone didn't like my example of a racist owner. No one who is senile just becomes a racist, man..

Someone also missed "Lebron aside", as well. I don't like what Lebrons been doing, I've said that. But who else? What has Westbrook done exactly to trash a fan that didn't deserve it? What players are hostile towards their fans?

Because what's amazing to me, is you have probably the greatest collection of "good" dudes in the NBA. How many NFL players punched their wife or kids recently? Who was it, Guice that's now brought up on rape charges?

Look at the guys now. Curry, nice guy. Lebron, outspoken, annoying at times, but a good person. Kawhi, doesn't talk. Dame? Spends all day with media. Westbrook, fierce competitor. Almost NO off the court issues. None. Almost zero drugs, crimes, nothing. The worst thing the NBA did was when the Suns got sucked off by a stripper.

I'm not sucking up to anyone, if anything, I'm telling them that I don't "see" their issues. On the other hand, having a hissy fit about it, causing a stir, getting it noticed, is EXACTLY what Lebron wants. Not to mention, the players don't care if Trump watches or anyone else who isn't at least sympathetic to the things they feel are problematic.. (remains to be seen if that's a smart move or not, we will see)

We’re arguing different things man. I think players have to deal with some stupid ****, but they’re compensated in the terms of millions to deal with it Come on now. Let’s not just pretend Nazi Germany is going on with owners and fans. You cited one owner who’s old as dirt and was removed. It’s not something that happens a lot, and it’s not something to use as reference to point to players dealing with racism. If anything, it proved racism will never be tolerated. So what’s the problem?

In the riots, people were losing their eyesight and lives. They threw rocks, not a paper cup. You’re better than this.

You are a fan of the NBA and so you’re ignoring your own reasoning ability to justify the attitudes of the league. I’m not making anything up, there are many more people who see it the way I do than you.

The hypocrisy of the players is something that’s also equally hard to take, but I’m sure you have a built in excuse for why the NBA is sucking up to communist China while disrespecting America at nearly every turn.

Respectfully ( and I’m sincere) I’ve listened to you a lot and agreed with you a lot bro. But you should just admit that you’re a fan and back out of the conversation instead of leaving your principles behind to win an argument. Your reasoning seem to be totally different when applied to something other than the NBA. It’s like I’m reading from an entirely other person.

They need to stay out of the political arena and entertain..fans don’t care about their opinions on what really matters. They are so disconnected on the real life issues anyway. They live in a protected bubble and are void of any real accountability for their actions.

I am absolutely not assaulting someone over throwing a paper cup at me. if they were to walk up and throw it directly at my face from 1 foot away, maybe I’d react with some sort of physicality. But that’s not what happened to Artest. You’re changing narratives to fit what you want it to be.

And you wouldn’t assault someone who threw a paper cup at you from that far away either, because you seem like a reasonably successful guy and in the real world we know that a real man only goes red when it calls for it. If your impulse control was that weak, you would be in prison. Arrest is a weird guy. We both know this.

What is something you’d like me to see about the NBA that I don’t?

I mean, neither of us know if it happens a lot. But, it is an example of a racist owner. Of course I'm going to defend the NBA, maybe to a fault. But, I still have yet to see how NBA players are trashing the fans. I think that statement you made was completely false. I think you, and many others, disagree with the stances the players take, which is fine, but you can't say they are trashing you or fighting you. This is being blown up much bigger than it is.

Of course its not the same as losing an eye, I more mean the principal of doing something, thinking there are no repercussions because you're just a face in the crowd.

Lebron could have done more with the China thing, but IDK who else. Again, this really is a "Lebron" thing, the rest of the players pretty much keep quiet and play, aside from the most recent events.

In defense, I don't think you know what my principals are. I don't even know if I HAVE real principals. I'm probably one of the more chaotic ones here. But I can say this, as a conservative, I'm a bit annoyed at how butt-hurt my fellow righties have been about this. I would have liked to seen them ignore the nonsense, let them have their "free speech" and move on. Instead, it seems a lot have decided to jump on the snowflake train with the left, and that's truly disappointing.

The NBA promotes itself as a product by way of their players and their personalities, much moreso than any other sport. They can't be surprised when their product takes a dip in popularity after the same players take a public political stance during the games that probably around 40% of the country disagrees with, the majority of whom are male and watch sports.

At the same time, the current product is inferior to regular playoff basketball, which is out of their control. But its also a factor.

Heh, I can't say I wouldn't. Look, you're going to get in trouble for throwing haymakers. But it needed to happen. Maybe that's a principal I have: You should act like you would if your identity was on display and there was nothing to hide behind.

It was also more than Artest, O'neal and Jackson as well. We can go down that rabbit hole.. the issues with race in the NBA, the way the NBA is setup with fans right next to the players, etc.. for another day.

But you’re asking me to show you examples of players trashing fans and it’s a personal opinion of the way they conduct themselves with the fans. I’m not going to Scour the internet for interviews and comments and reactions of players that I deem petty and inappropriate when it comes to fan interaction. YouTube “NBA players being a *****”. I’m sure there’s plenty of material.

Many of them are smug, have bad attitudes, and don’t show enough respect. If some of these guys were white, 5’9, 25 year olds who came into your workplace acting the way they do, you’d see it totally different. I can’t see you making excuses for an employee coming down on a kid for touching his pants with his fingertips. I can’t see you advocating an employee attack and assault people for getting hit with a paper cup. I can’t see you listening to another employee downgrade the entire country while he’s back channeling China on his private email and using human suffering to promote himself.

I think what’s happening here is I don’t have a problem calling it what it is because I’m not really a fan of the league anyway, and you don’t want to call it what it is because they’re catching a lot of grief and you want the league popular. We’re both biased here in ways, sure. And you’re right about many other athletes today, it’s not just a basketball problem.

For politics, the NBA are advocates for evil regimes while trashing the country that has done more to liberate black and minority populations than anywhere. Until the NBA And its players addressed real oppression, they need to be called out for their acceptance of real evil. I don’t see how you could possibly dispute that.

And btw, as you know, most of us moderates or right leaning already ignore more than we should.

Kinda like all the Trump followers that turn a blind eye to his "White Power" tweets, Russian/Ukranian collusion and tear gassing of peaceful protesters for a photo op holding a Bible? Definitely not a fan of Marxism but there's plenty of deaf, dumb and blind to go around on all sides right now.

Yawn. You are a walking cliche. Orange Man Bad....NPC Triggered.

I wish you had half that much contempt for CS Gas and Psy-Ops torture tactics being used on innocent women and children at Waco.

Once again, I'm not trying to be argumentative, but exactly how are you telling them "that I don't "see" their issues"? This is the problem I see with watching their games. How are you sending any message to them other than you are still watching? How do they know you skip the National Anthem and ignore their politics? The only way possible that I can see to send them a message is to tune them out until the loss of revenue hits their pocketbook and then they will get the message.

They think they are making a statement about racial equality. The players probably all are...but BLM leaders are not. Make the statement apart from the BLM organization. Instead BLM is using racism as a platform to gain power & influence for their true agenda. So, yea....it turns a lot of folks off; not because the viewers are racists but see through the sham of a corrupt organization using a real issue as a larger platform.
Its clear as day to anyone who cares to look for two seconds. The genius of it of course is anyone who calls them out is simply branded a disgusting racist.

Theyre the real racists, and I think a lot od black folks would be surprised how many of us who are hollering about not wanting this BLM commie bs all over would actually stand with them and agree about actual race issues if this had been handled the way it should have been, instead if being weaponized all in an attempt at a power grab.

I'm sure it's several things. Protests don't help.. but again, that crowd of people was just asking for some reason to stop watching. I think a lot of people see this season as a wash. Bubble games were not that important aside for a select few.

I'd be curious to see how the ratings improve or not now that it's the playoffs.
This brings to mind another question for me, am I even going to consider the team that wins the bubble playoff a 'true' NBA champion? Not really, no. I don't know too many that would hold this years champion at the same level as others that have completed the 82 game schedule and playoffs under normal circumstances.

That said, it certainly isn't the players fault. They didn't and don't have any control over the way things have played out.

Every team played 70 games in the regular season. I agree that the playoffs are a little different, but I look at the NBA champion as a much more legit champion than MLB.
