Ill go with Brandon Clarke. A super efficient 24 year old who does it all and will only get better.
I'll add another of the league's most efficient and versatile players, and a guy who has proven to be dominant when it matters most.
Top 30 in win shares and points per game, top 20 in eFG% and 3PT%. A guy who can play either forward spot, can create his own shot, post up, and knock down 40% of this threes.
3 straight seasons of 20 ppg and with increasing efficiency of over 50% from 2 and 40% from three is perfect for my offensive juggernaut.
Oh, and he's only 26.

He’s a very underrated player. I drafted him the last time we did this & I had underrated him myself til I really looked at his production. I knew he was solid & could score but had no idea he was THAT efficient. Indiana has a nice, young core with him & Sabonis.
I agree. When you look at the injuries they've had, and particularly the way this bubble played out, I think the Pacers were a bad matchup and some bad luck away from advancing deep in the East. They did McMillan dirty too.
Warren has been good for a few years, but was forgotten out in Phoenix. The production he's posted for a really good Pacers squad proves he's one of the most efficient scorers in the game, and he was absolutely dominant in the bubble. He was on the All-League team or whatever they called those awards.
I'm afraid he won't garner the votes that a bigger name but worse player might have, but at the end of the day, the point of this is to talk hoops and build good teams, even if it doesn't win the voting.
Exactly. It’s hard to trust that voters will know a lot of the lesser name guys & they likely don’t value defense or put much thought into it. So, I try to draft the best team I can & try to pick guys who I think would play well together & don’t even worry about the voting. I’ve noticed that the best team doesn’t always win & it’s more of a popularity contest based on players’ names. The draft & banter is the best part of this IMO. I love drafting teams & talking hypotheticals & the voting results are almost an afterthought for me.
We always discuss it and never do it... but would be fun to run these drafts through simulation.
Someone did run sim a few years ago on one. Maybe @Rupp'sRunt i think? Lotta work to sim. Gotta be dedicated to the cause

Particulary with guys like Luka, who thrive with the ball in their hands, I need the most dangerous guy in the league off the catch. Not just currently-- *of all time.*

He's a singularly unique weapon, played within Miami's defense and movement oriented approach, was clutch in the playoffs, and is barely 26 years old in just his second year in the league, so he's nowhere near his ceiling as a player.
Give me Duncan Robinson and see how many people will admit they planned to draft him in the next two rounds.

Hand to god was taking him with my 6th pick if there lol
I guess i need to round out my starting 5 so ill go with a big man whos 24, is just one year removed from being a block champ, and has slowly shifted to playing predominantly on the perimeter offensively (shoots over 4 3’s per game) and is just about 36% from 3 for his career so should add some nice spacing with Giannis, Ill go with Myles Turner.

Aright, I’ll round out my starting lineup with a guy who’s gotten better every year, can hit a 3, and is turning into one of the best defensive players in the league, averaging 2.3 blocks a game this past season, Jonathan Isaac.

I’m gonna go with a versatile PG who can score with or without the ball & really knows the game. His motor is second to none & he’s arguably the best defensive PG in the league as he can lockdown 3 positions if necessary. I’ll take Jrue Holiday. @Cowtown Cat OTC

It's the 7 year timeline that is pushing some elite players to later rounds. I know I'm personally trying to draft players who will give me a full 7 year run of no issues about their age. I'm sure others are doing the same.
In your case you are trying to win the first 3-4 years with your lineup. Which gives you the advantage of taking older players sooner.
Very good point. I just felt Kemba at 30 was worthy of going quite a few spots earlier, even in this format. Still, valid point.
