Umm, because he said and ran on having a Muslim ban. Those words literally came out of his mouth. Who do some people insist on calling it what he said it was? Gimme a break.
I couldn't be prouder of being about 80% white , is amazing . I don't feel the need to apologize to myself for being about 20% Cherokee either . I will never apologize for being white , white folk are awesome . Immigrants don't have rights until they become citizens and they shouldn't be allowed in if it endangers registered citizens .
Illegal immigrants who sneak in shouldn't have rights and it's nothing like immigrants who went through Ellis island to be documented in order to become legal . I didn't read any further than the first 1/3 of the posts, or so. That's as long as it took for the FOX NEWS, fascist, Nazi, Trump supporting right-wing bigots to take over the thread.
I was glad to see that there is a small minority on this board who have not descended into the same socio-political credo that dominated Germany in the 1930's and gave us Hitler, the Nazis, World War II, and the Holocaust in 1939-1945 - and required of our forefathers the sacrifices at Omaha Beach and at Bastogne, etc.
Those who forget the lessons learned from the mistakes of history are bound to repeat the mistakes.

Ok, let's break this down so you can understand it a little easier. He is white, so he can't really speak for other races and their feelings. That would be speaking for group of people with which he can't identify. I must have missed the part where he said only white people are objecting. Could you please point that out?
Could you please point out where he said it was just white people or acted like this. He just said he was embarrassed to be white. Obviously that tells you his is white. How is he suppose to be embarrassed for being another race when he is white? If his post bothers you that would likely be intuitive of some suppressed guilt or feelings on your part. If it doesn't pertain to your life then why does it bother you when he, or others, say it?
You do realize most of the terrorist attacks in the country are perpetuated by white Americans, right? So should we not remove all of them from our country and perform the same vetting procedures to ensure safety?

The nazi party blamed Jews for surrendering in the First World War and exacted revenge when they came into power , it was wrong and everybody knows it . We're talking about not letting potential terrorist into our country and if blocking entrance is needed then so be it . I can understand both sentiments here, but I can't help but be reminded of those saying Muslim's aren't doing enough - or anything - to combat the hijacking of their religion by various extremists. How much responsibility should you take for the actions of those who badly represent whatever group you happen to belong to? If you are't embarressed by the bad actions of others in your group nor act to disavow their behavior, then you've lost the high ground to accuse other groups of not doing enough to reject/reign in the behavior of extrimists in their respective groups. jrpross and ukwildcats#8, just using your posts as food for thought, not calling out either of you or including you in any implied criticism.
Think the embarrassing thing and tragic thing is to not support this policy that was half assed thrown together 2 weekends ago. I am embarrassed for myself and others alike that have not said publically or through however means that the policy is wrong and totally is anti US. Our country was founded on immigrants. It hurt us in the intelligence field to gather evidence on radicals. It is wrong.
Go back and watch some of the transport ships from Germany that countries turned away loaded with jews. Many years later these people were killed in gas chambers. I hope we stand up with him. They can vet and watch without this.
If there was a way to vet white Americans who are terrorist, sure remove them. That is different than letting in people who may be terrorist. Do you not see the difference? Or are you just willingly ignorant?

They are both terrorist right? So not really a big difference other than their skin color and religious beliefs. Why should we allow one and not the other. Why not vet the group that is responsible for the majority of the attacks in this country first? If they were black, Asian, Hispanic or some other ethnicity responsible for the majority of the attacks in this country we would have no problem vetting the hell out of them. Regardless if they were born here or not. However, if it affects white people, which I am btw, then by god there's just not a lot we can do. Completely ignoring the group that commits the most attacks in the country seems far more ignorant to me. And actually, it wouldn't be that hard. We have removed over 100,000 in just the past couple of weeks. Many of whom had green cards, were translators for our military in combat areas and many who were soldiers that fought along side of American soldiers combat. If we just kept that same rate with US citizens we could have this country emptied out in a few years and start vetting everyone exactly the same.

It is totally wrong and everyone whether you are a republican and or Dem have said as much. He has little respect for gathering agencies or doesn't listen to them. They all said this was mistake. We can do it a different way. I mean the man has said he admires Putin and previous president was a disgrace. This would be akin to someone running for President in 1936 or 1940 saying FDR was a disgrace and that they admired Stalin and Hitler.

Where did I say let more in? I think you are incredibly confused. I think we should kick the group out that is responsible for the majority of the terrorist attacks in our country. Which, as you've agreed is white, American men. So by your logic we should just allow those terrorist to stay, but we should kick people out of our country that currently have green cards, have aided our country in times of war and have extreme vetting on that group of people. But since it's harder and less popular to vet the white men, who are responsible for the majority of attacks in this country, we should just let them be. You're a special kind of stupid, huh?

The last 2 big attacks were done by US citizens in Orlando and San Bernardino were citizens, they became radicalized and in one case the wife made a pilgrimage to Pakistan. This is when you have to be careful, citizens with family ties to region going back to regions. People are trying to come over due to being killed and their kids being slaughtered. They just want safe havens to live.
There is enough blame to go around, we have turned our back for years on Iraqi's people, the Kurds have been slaughtered after years doing our dirty work for us. We have totally for the last 5 years mangled all good ties by turning our back on Syria and other safe zones. Just left them out to dry. Yeah Isis hates us pretty bad but now you have people who were our allies who are being hurt and US has totally turned back and left it to Russians, Syria to kill and take over. These people who were giving us help now don't trust us and hate us do to last actions, their kids grow up to hate us and blow up buildings. Trump pretty much called the FBI and CIA awful during campaign.
I am not some bleeding left wing, Your experts and most of the retired generals are all of opinion you don't have enough bullets to kill every one, you do it by giving these people safe places to live, water, food. You don't go against a whole race like Trump did. Shameful.
