Oddly enough, Iran seems to be behind the curve. Good for us, but will that last?

US is behind and needs to retool our approach overall to be more forward looking.

it's difficult to believe we are behind on drone tech. i wouldn't be surprised if expending conventional munitions against russia and iran in recent times are simply to get some roi from old **** and make room to store newer tech including drones

Is it though? Specifically the militarization of "small" units, not the predetor drones etc. Also I don't think it is the tech itself, I think it is the application and response to such technology.

We haven't had to really be knees deep in a war where we needed to be more strategic on a budget. Look how our big hammer approach has been moderate and wainingly successful with Iran.
