4 reg season games at home and conf tourney left. What is needed to secure the national seed.?

One win was mandatory this weekend. Three wins was over the moon good. At this point I think two wins out of the next four sews up the NS. Realistically we should win all four.

If if we should win 3 or 4 and have a NS in the bank, what is the strategy in the SECT? Sure you play to win but no way do you risk overusing your starting pitchers.

1 win and 4 losses locks up a national seed 100%. Honestly we are more than likely a national seed even if we go 0-5.

We will go 3-1 or 2-2 at worst and get the 4th or 5th NS, which are essentially the same.
4-0 and MSU will be at least #3 National Seed.

I don’t see any scenario where we aren’t a national seed. A win vs LacTech and 0-3 vs South Carolina is 100% a national seed lock.

If we win the remaining 4 and win 1 or 2 in the tourney there is a legit shot of us being the #1 National seed

Nothing about this season gives 0-3 at home vs SC any credence. The odds of that are much less than 10%. La Tech is likely a better team than SC.

I would think 1-3 is the absolute worst case, with 3-1 likely and 4-0 much more likely than 1-3. Any of those and we are a NS.

I'm a fan of not changing anything if it's working good. Let Mac rest his foot but let everyone else keep playing like they are. An SEC tourny win would be nice but don't stress our pitching just to win it.

I think if we go 4-0 we have a legit shot at the overall #1 or #2

2-2 should keep us comfortable in the #3-5 range

0 or 1 win could put us uncomfortably waiting on the announcing of the #8 seed, bc getting swept by South Carolina at home would hurt RPI and just not look good at all. But we won't get swept by them, so 2-2 is probably worst case unless we totally put our heads in our asses over the next week.

This team winds up no worse than #4 overall. #4 would mean we lose 2 of 4 to 2 ****** teams at home which we haven't done except lsu and lsu is way better than these 2

I’ll say this. Sweep all 4 this week and have A&M take 2 of 3 from Arkansas and we could go 2 & Q in SEC tourney and still be a top 4 National Seed. In fact, winning the West would all but make the SEC tourney of no use to us.

Love the optimism but...

If we win the remaining 4 and win 1 or 2 in the tourney there is a legit shot of us being the #1 National seed

That would likely require us to leapfrog a couple of teams in our own conference. Vandy has UK left. It is foregone that they will win the SEC outright. Arky has TAM left. Even if we sweep USC we will probably wind up no better than a tie with them for the west and they swept us head-to-head. The only way I see it happening is if we win out and win the SECT going through vandy and arky to do it.

In the end it really doesn't matter as long as we get a top 8.
