Lol, most want to fire Cal for not having enough post-season success and Nate Oats has never been past the sw16, and he's only been that far twice. It's not like he hasn't had time, talent or resources. He would implement the exact same system with the same players he is getting at Bama, and it would have the same level of success.

Also, Bama’s defense isn't rated much better than ours currently. A big reason his teams get bounced early is because they aren't typically great defensively and they rely way too heavily on the 3. So, how is that an improvement for UK?

Chris Beard and Pearl have been more successful. Give me one of them.

Not since the disaster last season with Miller, plus he’s not good enough for Kentucky

If we need to replace our coach at this point, there is only 1 call to make, Bruce Pearl
My hunch is that Pearl ends up at Louisville after this season. UL is a better job than any SEC school not named Kentucky.

Thank you! Granted I want a change at the helm of the program but not another "gimmick" oriented coach that produces quick results, but then fades quickly.

So why do they currently rank 65th in defensive efficiency? He just a bad teacher?
New account defending Calipari. Just like @BobbyBlue32, @UKBB4Ever and few others out there. Fancy that.

I'm certain they're the same 2 to 3 posters who have posted here for years. Almost certainly not even UK fans.

They take the contrarian view. BobbyBlue reminds me of (and actually is) that loser Leadbelly who just takes the opposite position of whatever is generally accepted here.

Defending Cal? Where did I defend Cal Karen? I defended our players in the NBA, our players. I take the UK fan view, there’s nothing contrarian about defending our guys. Everyone who isn’t some unhinged Cal hating lunatic view moronic extreme views is leadbelly.

Sorry but defending having successful players in the NBA isn’t defending Cal. It’s a national thing for a real UK fan to do. Too bad y’all are too ignorant to figure that out. Fancy crying about our players being successful. That’s how big of a joke you are.

Oats is a good coach. I doubt he could handle the non basketball aspects of UK.

He’s not as good a coach as Cal.

But if we had an opening he would be worth a look.

The reason Cal needs to go is because he doesn’t put the university first.

Not a knock on him. He said he didn’t when he was hired. And never said different over 14 years.

The next coach needs to be UK first. If that’s Oats then let’s see what he can do.

The OHC will want him gone in 2 seasons or less.

Leadbelly hasn't posted here in ages under that name, and thus you would only know about him if you are him, since you just joined recently. How else would you know who he is?

Another account linked to the biggest loser who ever posted here. The gig is up, ole friend.

Again...

He's a guy id consider but he has had a couple of great bama teams and accomplished nothing n ncaa with either. I prefer a coach that has made the final four before

It is embarrassing for Kentucky fans to consider a sleazy guy who disgraced himself defending someone involved -- however indirectly -- in the murder of a young woman.

And embarrassing to be willing to consider a guy who couldn't get a #1 seed and the best team he'll likely ever coach past the Sweet 16 -- and has NEVER been to the Elite Eight -- to replace a coach who has been to the Elite Eight or further ten times in the past 17 NCAA tournaments.

It's getting harder to separate the pure trolls who secretly hate Kentucky and post here as frauds from the uniformed and immature.

Fact is Oats had the #1 overall seed last year and lost in the Sweet 16. I don't think his style is conducive to winning a title. It will win him the SEC, because you can still win the league if you have a few off shooting nights over the course of a season, but shooting well enough to win six straight when you shoot 30 3s per game is highly unlikely in my opinion. His team showed that last year.

It would probably be exciting for a year or so while we had some fresh blood in the coach's chair, but after a few early tournament exits I think people would be ready to move on.

Where did I defend Cal? I literally compared Oats' results to Cal and stated I didn't want him. Any dumbass should be able to logically infer I don't want Cal either.

I also provided the names of coaches I would take instead because they actually offer results.

Not everything is about Cal or being pro Cal, Loser!

P.s. always trying to look like an alpha on the internet, particularly anonymously, just makes you look like the ultimate beta. It's so cringy. It's even worse when it's someone with almost 40,000 posts. If a person was able to make one post every day of their life, they would need multiple lifetimes to achieve that. I couldn't imagine just spending all of my time on here constantly accusing posters I disagree with of being other posters, playing the victim when someone says something back, and trying to appear like an alpha internet poster. Seriously, what has to go wrong in your life for it to end up like this?

Cal’s teams have historically been amazing at defense. This year is a complete anomaly.
Last few years have all been anomalies then. Last year's team was 68th on Kenpom. The years before that:

2022: 36
2021: 35
2020: 52

The five years prior were much better:

2019: 8
2018: 22
2017: 7
2016: 39
2015: 1

So the average of the past five years, including this year: 59
The average the five years prior to that: 15

There has been a lot of talk about his offense being outdated, but if any part of the game has truly passed him by it's on the defensive end.

I think UL probably wants Beard. Oats is a good coach for sure, just runs a bit of a thug program. Pearl might be a little old but while I don’t think he would necessarily leave the SEC or Auburn for UL given the close proximity to the Atlanta basketball circuit, I could and have been wrong before.

"Everyone who isn’t some unhinged Cal hating lunatic view moronic extreme views is leadbelly."

So you have watched closely enough over the last few years to post the exact same rebuttal that other Leadbelly accounts post when those accounts are discovered?

Because that's exactly what he posts, that I accuse "everyone" who I disagree with of being Leadbelly.

That's a pretty good eye for a new guy who I've never really interacted with before.

You need to change up your game. Presently, your moronically predictable style keeps giving you away, old sport.

So you cry about UK players having success in the NBA because you’re a complete clown. Yeah, I watch you be a pathetic crybaby clown everyday. The truth hurts and that why you frauds always deflect with dumb message board BS.

Funny how the flavor of the season candidates come and go.

No one wanted Oats last year. Did the year before. Now no one wants Mussleman after wanting him before.

It's really funny.

You think Cal chokes in the post season? Why do you think Oats is an improvement?

At least Oats can win the SEC now.

Cash Cal can’t even do that!

Oats is hungry young 49 and trying to win games SEC Titles and National Titles. If you think he should have won more, Buffalo and Bama aren’t exactly juggernauts in the College Basketball World.
