Anything published out of Nashville or as part of the Gannett/USA Today network should be met with intense scrutiny. It's awful journalism.
I cant imagine the Des Moines Register messing up Iowa and Iowa State.

Someone may have already done it, but
if not, wish someone would go back, say 10 years and compile a list of these Busch league “mistakes”. At some point it ceases being black helicopter and enters the realm of obvious bias.
I used to check Clarion Ledger sports page daily, and wrote off the complaints as over sensitive whiners...until “mistake” number 20 over the course of a few years. Quit checking it years ago and don’t miss it a bit. I suggest y’all do the same.

Dead serious, I would bet you that there's an Old Miss journalism grad who works at Gannett in Nashville and does this junk on purpose. His name isn't on it, he doesn't care.

Just my opinion but I think it's because they have an identity. Frat, polo, square, grove but MSU doesn't really have an identity and thus we get confused for others.

With something like Tommy Campion headlines would read. MSU player arrested on Multiple Charges.Unknown at this time how many years sentence he receives.
While in Oxford an Ole Miss player is arrested for raping five women. Headlines the next morning reads “Ole Miss player helps solve a serial rape case.”
While technically correct in both cases, it’s how you say it that changes the meaning.

Cheater U. has more students from out of the state of Ms. annd when those students leave Cheater U. they don’t stay in Ms. This has been going on for a long time.
