PJ and Gene are saying IB is meeting with Napier in person this afternoon. It's down to Napier and Sark. One will be the next coach.

Where do you see that they reported a meeting between Cohen and Napier this afternoon? I don’t see that anywhere. Paul said he heard rumors of a face to face with the two but nothing confirmed.

Not making a case for anyone but looking at facts. BNs final game was Monday night. We are just under 48 hours from that point. Seems that timeframe is reasonable. If, if the “rumor” that he would not “talk” until after his teams bowl game is, was true.

You are exactly right. It hasn't been confirmed anywhere, and I haven't seen Gene mention it, although I would take anything said by Gene with a grain of salt.

I think that, hypothetically, whoever our new coach is might like the opportunity to tell his team and his administration himself before they hear it on the news. (Unlike Mullen, who got on a plane to Florida and never said a word to our team.) So I think that anyone that you hear from Paul Jones is almost certainly NOT a viable candidate, but someone to buy time.

Either Sark or Napier or Grantham I think all about have the same chance of success based on our limited knowledge of each of them. So it's up to Cohen to pick the best of those or some darkhorse candidate.

$3mil a huge stumbling block?

https://forums.sixpackspeak.com/showthread.php?208030-Where-Is-All-of-The-Money

Quit thinking like the old days and facilitating the place being run like it was in the old days.

Yeah, if it was as simple as Revenue-Expenses. You're not taking into effect the amount of money that goes back to the university, what gets funneled through IHL, etc. I'm not sure we're even seeing building costs in any of those expenses and we just built a $68 million baseball stadium on top of continuous improvements in other areas.

I'm just saying, there's already one 'money for nothing' situation happening and they may not be able to stomach two.

Even if we took that basic Revenue minus Expenses approach, that's a $10,000,000 surplus from last year. The buyouts for Moorhead and Napier would eat most if not all of that.

Quit thinking like a millennial and thinking the budget will just kinda work itself out.

Cool. We'll just use the other $55 million(before interest) we've put back then... And the baseball stadium is revenue positive. It's paying for itself just like someone(ahem) said it would.

The bottom line is that we have an absolute 17 ton of money. And I'm sick of pretending this is LT's Mississippi State. It's not going to work. And we've got $30mil/yr more coming. You can feel free to keep your head in the sand. And I'll just keep being right on all this financial stuff as it relates to us, which you can easily confirm in a search of my history on the topic here for references.
