again!

No, you’re not going to deliver a SOU.

Maybe the second kick from the mule will deliver the message to Trump.

BREAKING NEWS: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a letter that the House will not consider a concurrent resolution authorizing the president’s address in the House chamber until the government has opened.

He's always several steps ahead of whomever he's dealing with. A master at winning.

Nancy ate the cheese, and washed it down with the Jonestown kool-aid.

President Trump is Constitutionally required to provide a report to Congress.

She can stop the dog and pony show in the House, but not the report.

she is shunning the Constitution...

A report is all that is required. There wasnt even a speech given until Wilson. We would be better off if they just went back to sending it over written down and leaving it at that. It is the worst event in US politics.

I haven't watched a SOTU in probably 15 years. I can't stand the exaggerated applauses from half of the room every 8 seconds after the President says anything with a pause at the end.

Could you imagine the meltdown had Trump cancelled the SOTU.

And so many Dems, who rely on soundbites and propaganda, would have no idea what it contained unless one of their more privileged white friends or relatives volunteered to read the document to them.
Are you really trying to say that the 2016 results were based on all the substance and nuance delivered by the winning candidate? I'm not trying to say that the left side of the aisle doesn't use soundbites and the like, but the right side does as well.

Meltdown?

Good lord, there would be a celebration of unparalleled scale, not having to listen to that moron droning and snorting for 90 minutes.

We will save this thread, for the day that a Republican Speaker of the House doesn't invite a Democratic President to hold the SOTU.

Morons have no idea of the long term optics they are setting.

The SOTU is just delayed until the government opens. What is with the End Times hysteria? So it happens in Feb/March....BFD.

If a Dem prez has the gov't shut down then he/she shouldn't be giving a SOTU speech. Relax, she's just shaming him into doing his job.

If there is one thing these morons are terrible at, it is self awareness and self analysis of their own actions. It has amazed me for years and we see it 24/7/365

I'm not over reacting at all. I think Pelosi's move is bad politically for her and the party, and I think it sets a bad precedent for future Houses and Presidents. There was zero reason to postpone it other than politics. And the hypocrites know full well that if the roles were reversed, they'd be screaming bloody murder.

I wouldn't have watched, haven't watched it in years, but it's just another nail in the coffin of this government functioning at a reasonable level.

Obviously having the gov't open is not a big deal to you (or Trump).

He's already stopped the world from spinning over his wall and won't budge. You'd better get used to chickenshit political stunts. Delaying the SOTU is harmless.
