Hey, Twitter "rankings" ain't my thing but it does NOT suck to see him ranked ahead of some of the names on that list!

At the age of 55 I cannot think of a worse starting QB at Nebraska in my lifetime. In fact I don't think it's close...Sims wins going away. I find it difficult to believe anyone would have a shred of doubt about who we should play going forward....exactly how many more game killing mistakes do you have to see... to make you believe he ain't the guy??

one QB wants all the pressure squarely on his shoulders so his brothers can go out, play loose and not worry about having to do too much

the other wishes nobody was watching
That kind of talk is nonsense and you know it. This team has really got to come together on offense now. Iowa is going to look like Oregon compared to us now.

here is a fun thread that will provide necessary context for how some view the quarterback position:

There really is no debate when you look at the stats, mainly the stats that matters most which is points (extra points awarded to qb):

Jeff Sims:
Minnesota > responsible for 7 of our points. Gave away 10 points with turnovers. He also left 3-7 points off the board at the end of the half. Final score 10 - 13
Colorado > responsible for 7 of our points. Gave away 19 points with turnovers. Final score 14 - 36

Heinrich:
Colorado > responsible for 7 of our points. None given away
NIU > responsible for 21 of our points. Gave away 3 points with turnovers. Final score 35 - 11

In total, Heinrich has scored 28 of our total 59 points. Jeff has scored 17. Heinrich has given away 3 of our 60 points allowed. Jeff has given away 29. Even if you count field goals, Jeff has granted more points off of turnovers then he is responsible for. That’s pathetic!

HH has 103 votes to Sims 15. Purdy 3 ( always have a few short bus riders ).

That's a huge endorsement..

This is exactly the kind of leadership you want to see out of a QB. A QB should make the guys around him better. This is a perfect example of this.

I can't begin to tell you just how important I think this is. We haven't had that in a QB for awhile.

I would start HH, but still play Sims, if he can clean up the TO’s.

If we are going to call 20 QB runs, let’s split those runs up close to 10 and 10.
I agree. But don’t hold back on the QB runs. Run Sims on every other down when he’s in there.

And I still think Purdy has something to offer. He wasn’t ready last year and, at first, was thrown into games under the worst of circumstances. If he regained his confidence, he will be a good player.

Haarberg. For one reason. Turnovers. Otherwise it does not matter. We have little talent or depth at any position. We need to win with defense, special teams, and opportunistic error-free offense.

People keep talking about Sims ceiling. Am I missing something with his passing? He looks below average to me. Good but not great runner.

Basically a big mobile qb with below average decision making and passing skills.
