Quade will start at the 2 until someone else earns it. Will be a small, powerful starting line up. I think Cal will be tempted to do the same thing with Richards again.

Don’t think Richards will be starting over PJ or Travis.

there's zero chance of richards seeing much more than if we need something grabbed from outer space....no way. he can't shoot and is crazy clumsy. i dont even wanna watch him dunk.....sheesh. he'll miss it

Who cares? Think about the battles in practice everyday! There should be competition everyday for those minutes.

Yeah Richards will have to improve quite a bit to get decent minutes and trust I hope he does cuz if we can get production from Nick, wow our front line will be something else.

Every "Kentucky Starting 5" OP post or tweet i've seen has at least one obvious headscratcher. Quade is starting people. I saw one on Twitter that had Herro starting over Quade.

There are two guarantees on the starting lineup, Quade and PJ. After that it is up in the air as we are so talented.

I suspect a lot of these guys are of similar quality and will therefore play similar minutes. If Richards can play at a high level I don’t think anyone sees 30 minutes per game.

6th man-Johnson (versatile spark plug w/ just win attitude) No issue coming off the bench.
Bench players Quickley, Herro, and Richards avg 8-10 mins a game. Baker called upon for additional shooting if needed.

Maybe. But, do we have enough information or observation time to know for sure yet? Also, wouldn't it be nice to have two starting guards who can both shoot well from outside - especially if the rest of the starting lineup wasn't particularly strong in this area?

I understand, of course, Hagans' other attributes might more than make up for his reported lack of outside shooting. But, it is a factor that makes me think you might not be able to just automatically pencil him in as the starting PG - unless the other PGs are just woefully deficient at defending (which truthfully Green was earlier last season), passing, driving, running the team, etc.

Early, the starters will not be the finishers. And the starters at the beginning of the season may not be by mid-season. At the start, I expect Green, Hagans/Johnson, Washington, Travis, and Richards. The finishers will be Green, Hagans, Johnson, Travis, and Washington. But, someone could emerge like SGA did and quickly (no pun intended, but possible) move into the line-up.

I just watch the highlights and see that Hagans is a monster. I honestly believe he will be the powerhouse on this team. He will make Wall just something to talk about......that's how badass I believe him to be...

One of the biggest problems last year for Nick Richards was confidence. If he doesn't kill it in the summer and improve, then that won't be his only obstacle this season.

Maybe both Travis and Washington do start, but I bet Cal plays it so that at least one of then is in 100% of the time . That way we always have muscle on the floor. Can't afford to have both in foul trouble early against a tough opponent.
Same with NR and EJ..keep 1 7 footer in most of the time. I don't recall everyone's jump reach, but the 1st possession is worth a start and quick change just to get the tip.
(Does Richards or EJ out jump the shorter guys?)
I had the feeling last year that NR started for that reason and gave way to SKJ early.
