I have my vodka and snacks ready for whatever may come...this place will be a hoot regardless...from the canonizing of GS by some, the lighting of votives to the “we are ****ed” crowd to the inevitable trolling...

gotta love fan forums...

Hey TKR mods...is the server ready?
The lights will dim in NJ when its announced.....

Maybe Greg wants his old house back too.

Anyone know a realtor in Piscataway? That would be great if he got his old house back... would be perfect for the story.

Somebody used to have an avatar of Schiano wearing Obi-wan Kenobi's cloak. Can somebody drum that up?

If Greg backs out after asking and getting what he wants/needs at RU, he’ll never sniff another Power 5 head coaching opportunity again in his life.

IMHO he wants the opportunity as long as he gets what he needs to contend for a conference and/or national championship at some point in time because that’s the goal he’s going to sell to the University, RU players, recruits, alums, New Jerseyans and the State of Rutgers. Rutgers wants to play with the big boys.

Just text me that the BOG is inclined to accept Schiano’s terms. At this time my source is saying that only Schiano not wanting the job will derail this from happening. The BOG could meet as early as Monday in emergency session to approve the contract.
It would be a special meeting, not an emergency session.

The BOG doesn't have to have an in person meeting. They have done things by conference call before.

True. Over the years, the hit rate of people's sources has been low enough, and the information from those sources has typically been highly generalized. So even when there are successes, it's impossible to prove they weren't just guesses that turned out true. Which isn't exactly hard to do when the possibilities are already quite limited so the odds of guessing right are fairly high.

Greg's interested or not interested. 50% odds of guessing right. RU BOG is interested or is not. 50% odds of guessing right.

So somebody starts a rumor, it spreads, next thing you know it's hard information from a reliable source.
Seems like you don't think some can have contacts that are closer to the situation and DO KNOW somewhat more than others what is really going on

Yes, of course, from "glorious" Kazakhstan. But I haven't been this excited in years.
So that's where we can expect to get recruits since the Swedish connection might be gone :Eyes: :See:

Let's just say that long experience has taught me how quickly and easily supposition and rumor can be innocently turned into fact as it passes from person to person.

In general, if information is for public consumption, then people repeating the information can name the source or origin of that information. If it's not fit for public consumption, then the people who actually have the information typically do not give that information to people who will repeat it to other people who ultimately repeat that information on internet forums.

There are exceptions. Inexperienced and unprofessional people make mistakes. But most people, those who keep their jobs if they're lucky, only ever make such a mistake once. After that, they learn to keep their mouths shut.

Sometimes people "leak" stuff intentionally. In those cases, it's not really privileged information anymore, and the people "in the know" are actually cynically using their contacts to spread information (often disinformation) in support of some agenda. It's actually more likely that people here who repeat stuff they've been told by some insider are being used by that insider for some purpose they're unaware of. Not really something to be proud of.

There are other reasons to doubt most people's inside information. Read up on network theory and rumor spreading.

All I can say is you are one cynical person. Serious question for you. When this whole “next coach and staff” situation is complete and let’s say there is a name who NO ONE ever mentioned on these boards but a few- as I will categorize them - insiders knew of the interest by said person would that change your thinking on maybe some do have a handle on what’s going on

So you have an idea of the type of offense and who the OC might be? Is that what you're referring to or you're saying there was a coach interested in the HC spot that no one knew about.

Gotta feel for the TKR mods:

i recommend some hand exercises and stretches as they will be busy deleting erroneous crap, false innuendo, over reactions (good and bad), potentially links to “worship” songs (eeeeek)...and the eternal battle of the Schianonites vs the rest.

if state penn fans chime in to tell, we could have a crash!

gird up your loins!
When Greg is announced I hope the posts will now focus on recruits , assistants , identity marketing , facilities and our plan. I hope the RU haters won’t be on these boards every day trolling and drooling for negative RU and GS things to happen.

There are a couple of possibilities re OC. All HC people were talked about so answer is no to question re HC

Thanks, but are these spread OCs or is it going to be some prostyle/multiple offense? Type of offense IMO is going to be important.
To be honest I really don’t know what type O will be run. If I had to guess it would be a variation of an RPO. I would think who we start to recruit at QB will give an indication of what he wants to do

Can anyone tell me how we are with Zamar Wise? Are we "still in the mix" or is he committed elsewhere?
