Dang it. BTN first showed its demolition on the Bethune-Cookman football game. Now, it's airing on the ladies volleyball. That was a wild couple of semesters.

RIP Cather Hall

I miss CPN tho... I ate real good between CPN and the occasional Selleck. Every now and then, Id do the A Table after being in Avery or Brace. AT was soooo good.

I always lived in Lincoln, but I never appreciated the skyline until I lived in Cather. Being up on 8th, I had the whole skyline at night and it was amazing

Cather and Abel were policed hard. HSS is where the players were and they'd play pickup games in the halls

You gotta tell me more man... wasnt that "The Penthouse" floor? Those guys were always party animals lmao

We used to throw pumpkins, bullets and cups of water out the window. One guy was so pissed when we pegged him with water. He counted floors and came up banging on the room hard. We hid under the bed with the lights off until he left. Haha!

Did u ever party it up in Neihardt basement hall? Maybe it was a new thing when I was there, but we had music and tons of students dancing and hanging under the lights

Can't say that I had. They did have a game room there with pool tables and video games. Yes, I know things change. We used to hang out there with the football players.

That's so cool! Before it became a social space, I used to study there at the tables. Was very quiet

so does anybody know what the logic is behind knocking down those halls? My daughter goes to school on the east coast and her dorm is a hundred years old and is still just fine. Were those buildings not salvageable?

The cost to bring them up to fire code was going to be more than what it would cost to build new

I find that very hard to believe. That may be the stated reasoning but have you looked at what it costs for concrete and steel right now? Those buildings were virtually all concrete and steel and it seems improbable that they will be replaced with something built as well as they were.
