Same here OP .. RU basketball having an exciting season is the only sports hope I have left this year.

Although I'm a Yankees fan, I just am no where near invested in it. My loyalties and emotional bank kind of goes RU football, RU basketball, Giants football, all other RU sports, Devils hockey, my NFL fantasy teams, Yankees

Well, I’m more of a Giant fan but I also root for the Jets.
Same with basketball, I’m a Nets fan but also root for the Knick’s. Although, I love college basketball and football much more then the Pro’s.

Well, sure! Put up a poll to see how many guys in the NY Metro area root for multiple teams. You’ll find many, trust me.
I don’t root for multiple teams involving Rutgers Football or Basketball in the same conference. When SHU was doing well when Carlisimo (sp) was there and Rutgers sucked, yep, I rooted for them having more than a few alumni friends there. Totally different now. In fact, I was with friends at the rack and Rutgers was losing to SHU at the half by about 10 points and I told them we will pull this out, and we did.

I'm a Jets and Giants fan too!

A lot of people don't understand how that's possible. But since they don't play at the same time (or, at least, never used to) I always watch one team at 1pm and the other at 4pm.

I love football. So why wouldn't I watch both games and root for both teams? An NFL Sunday football game is a terrible thing to waste.

But it's different in baseball because the Yanks and Mets almost always play at the same time. So you have to choose to watch one or the other (Go Yanks!!!!).

You can't root for two teams that are rivals. It makes no sense. Giants and Jets aren't rivals. You can't be a Giants and Eagles/Cowboys fan. You can't be a Yankees and Red Sox fan. You can't be a SHU and Rutgers fan. Only exception is if you are an alumni of both schools then you get a pass. Otherwise, pick a side.

The only leagues I can't root for both local teams are the NHL and MLB
I'm a longtime Devils and Yankees fan.

I don't root for either the Jets or Giants.

Billy Clyde Puckett called them the Dog-a*s Jets. Couldn't say it any better. Been a Yankee fan since birth and maybe earlier and a Giant fan almost that long.

I guess you forgot about Rutgers and Seton Hall in the Big East together. It's still a rivalry. If it wasn't we wouldn't be playing each other anymore.
