Wow though, thats really crazy. I dont know how a team that is viewed as last/near the bottom of a division by all 7 CBS 'experts' and viewed as last by the SEC media prediction can also be viewed as overrated.

Overvaluing MSU? When? Local, Regional, and National Media have rarely, if ever, picked us to do better than 4th in the West.

All they do is look at recruiting and names on jerseys and rank accordingly. If their bottom line depends on certain fanbases eating up pre-season predictions then they'll make sure those teams are picked higher to sell more subs. That's about the depth of 'research' you can expect from most of the folks voting in these polls.

It is one hell of an accomplishment to get picked last in your division and still be considered overrated. Not sure how that’s even possible. I guess if we finished 8th or 9th in the SECW this year, that would do it. We probably shouldn’t even try to field a team this season. Maybe he thinks the SEC office will penalize us an extra loss every time Mike Leach talks about aliens?

Yep, I've stopped reading or listening to anything preseason at this point. I haven't seen the pile on to diss MSU football like this since the Croom years. And even then we got some positive press because Croom was a media darling while most of the media dislike Leach.

As Matt Wyatt pointed out on one of his podcasts the other day when Finebaum mouthed off, the media does not like Leach mostly because Leach does not even value their opinion a little bit. He is usually short and does not give direct answers to anything. He just does not give a sh#t about them, and they get upset because he doesn't value them and their opinion.
