Alcohol and only alcohol (since I’ve never done any of the other stuff) will put one in the right frame of mind to read and respond to 90+% of the verbal diarrhea appearing on this board since it was announced that it would be Wildcats vs Volunteers. No drinkee, no typee.
That said, and despite all the foolish sniping back and forth, it SHOULD be a relatively low-scoring affair, inasmuch as neither team is a TD machine waiting to go into overdrive at any moment. And low scoring games are almost never blowouts.
Let me go out on a short limb here, by saying: NU will have to play at a level approximating its best game to pull out a win. It is unlikely that they (NU) can make multiple blunders and still win. If UT steadily does what it wants to, they will win by the margin of 10 or more. NU will have to stop them, which is not at all impossible. But the D will hold the keys to NU getting ahead and staying there, or to NU catching up should they fall behind. If the UT lead should reach 2 touchdowns, game is likely over.
I have NU scoring a touchdown on offense, another on defense, and getting two field goals. I see Tennessee matching the two TD’s (big play variety) but getting a single field goal. Plus, possibly a safety. 20 to 17 or 19. Player of the game? Easy call: Dan Vitale, Superback.
