I just saw it after Florida game. Projected 15 I think now but could move up fast if kept playing good.

I would be willing to be in favor of bringing Cal back along with several members of this team if I believed that Cal was capable of developing them.

But I don't.

Edit: For everyone say the biggest problem with UK is Cal, its impossible to buy out Cal. Only way he leaves is if he willingly walks out on the biggest contract in NCAAB. His ego is to big to miss out on his pay day.

How does it matter if we keep getting the best recruits or even really good recruits and our coach keeps his ********, antiquated offense in place? We absolutely rail on coaches like Coach K for having the Zion team and not even making the final four. Cal has had the #1 or #2 recruiting classes for the past 10 yrs and we have ONE trophy to show for it. Pretty sure some of the teams that won it in those other 9 years didn’t have the #1 recruiting class every year. Top recruits matter of course, as do superior athletes, but if you can’t mix them with skilled players and upperclassmen and a coach that teaches a modern offense in which he utilizes his players strengths, then what do the recruiting stats matter? UK used to be THE path to the NBA so the best would come here. Tom freakin Crean had the #1 pick in the draft last year and Georgia didn’t do **** as usual. At some point you recruit for the team you wanna build to win games and not for the NBA draft night.

I agree and this is what worries me. UK itself is going to have no reputation left to stand on in recruiting when he's gone. And it's not because of the losses. It's because of the lost traditions.

We didn't get out-recruited by negative talk and platoons...we got out-recruited by everyone paying players, or have you not been paying attention to the FBI investigation, Zion Williams former agent, etc etc etc...

This is true and just as important as getting rid of Cal. Barnhart must go too for his latest unforgivable bad decision giving Cal a lifetime contract.

The good news, if any, is that were going to have a much more experienced team next year. Allen, Toppin, Askew, Oscar, Ware at the minimum (although someone is bound to transfer). Then you still have possibilities in a guy like Jackson coming back. That goes along with a recruiting class that isn't really 1AD heavy.. Hickman, Hopkins, maybe even Collins. Were going towards more experience teams, one way or another. I personally don't think you'll see a team even close to being this inexperienced again.

Unfortunately, its looking like its going to be a total loss of a season this year.

Toppin and Ware are OVC talents .. I love Allen and Askew has a looong way in a short time BUT neither can guard a lamp stand . They both have white boy disease , both slower than maple syrup in January . And Cal won’t play zone , how do you hide them ? It’s a bad bad fit for a JC team

The majority of freshman don't play well in their first year. Look how good IQ and Richards became, or even guys like Herro and SGA as the season went on. Can't close the book on Allen or Askew, only half way into the season. I would be both will be markedly better by this time next year.

I don't think some of our fans realize how close to irrelevancy we were when we hired Cal. The safe bet is Cal turns this around. Stubborn as hell but competitive as hell too. To an extent MB played with fire, sold his soul to the devil, all those analogies....we needed Cal and Cal needed us. You don't replace Cal with a random college guy...you go big or go home. Spoelstra, Stevens, etc...probably not realistic.

For me I would rather roll the dice with Cal than some unproven coach...ala Chris Beard....lightning in a bottle type. I could be wrong. Why? Put the keys to the castle in his hand if it goes south where do you turn? That is your one chance, miss there, game over...especially with the current state of CBB.

Cal is what, 61? I will take my chances on 9 more years and hopefully I more title at least.

What about Dwayne Casey? Has an NBA title on his resume and is a former CAT
