And I think it's entirely plausible:

We lose to Tennessee and then win out, finishing the season 10-2. The final CFP Rankings have us occupying the final spot at #12. BUT, give the highest ranked Group of 6 school gets the last remaining spot, we get hosed.

If that happens, I'll burn my couch...for all the wrong reasons. Hell, I might even burn it in my own house.

Not enough sec teams are gonna finish 10 and 2. Impossible we arent n if we finish 10 and 2.

Root for byu to win out. We want all the big 12 teams to have 2 or more losses other than byu. They dint deserve 2 teams but they could steal a bid.

But really if we go 10 and 2 how many other sec teams are? If tn beats us and finishes 10 amd 2 that means they beat lsu so lsu is out. Bama wont win at lsu so they out. Texas plays a bunch of good teams and so does Ole miss.

All these teams cant finish 10 and 2.

Any scenario where UK makes the playoffs isnt a worst fear to me at all. Ill be happy as can be with any type of situation. Make it and you have a chance.

I think we end up getting in but I have blue glasses. the fact people are seriously even having these discussions is amazing to me. It’s gonna cost UK some money after this season is over.

I’ll be ecstatic with 10-2. We don’t control the playoff bracket.

Lol na just being realistic. We are a good team. We can win. But to think we are going to keep winning in overtime against even matched teams is a hard thought process.

I hope we do. I dont think we do. I think we lose to Tennessee. Beat Florida. Lose to Missouri. Beat Louisville. 2-2 . Maybe still a chance at playoffs

Our 9-3 should beat other teams 9-3 if it comes down to that

Would.not be shocked to lose to Tennessee and Missouri. Both will be tough road games and our lack of depth and injuries will catch up to us. I'm preparing myself for a Vols loss like it's a forgone conclusion. Maybe I'm still living in the Stoops years in my head, but it seems like they always have our number.

I would take 10-2 right now. That would be the best season in modern history (especially since we play a 9 game conference schedule now).

Brother, I’m happy with just 7 wins this first season. Do I want more? Absolutely! But no one expected us to even win 7 games in his first season. Everything else is gravy for me at this point.

UK on the bubble with Bama/Notre dame is what we don’t want. Bama has the head to head and Notre damn just has to be in the top 12, but that assumes we’re 9-3, if we’re 10-2 we’re in regardless. We’ve won these games by starting slow, missing kicks etc. but if we put together better starts and improve 3rd downs, we can beat everyone. I trust this team and staff.

If Louisville is better than Vandy then that's not a given either. I have no clue if they are good or not. Haven't watched them. But Vandy is the bottom feeder and had us nervous for two and a half quarters. There's no easy games.

So how do yall compare Louisville and vandy? Don't forget that's a ACC team going through a cake walk vs a SEC Kentucky team that will be beat to shreds. We are thin already.

Yeah but losing out after this start? That's gonna be a HUGE bummer. I wanna strike while the iron is hot. No matter how good Stein is, making the CFP is hard. This could be our only chance for a few years.

Defense is still my biggest worry- yes, they've come up with amazing turnovers- but that's just it. It's like we either turn a team over or they march down the field- ESPECIALLY if they have a serviceable QB. And all the rest of our games have more than serviceable QBs.

I wouldn’t worry about that. It’s expanding to 24 teams, and history shows that once the NCAA starts expanding tournaments it doesn’t stop.

Everybody with a pulse will have a “chance” in future years.

Football is different than basketball so I doubt it expands again after 24 teams. I think thats way more than enough.

Im not fun at parties lol. Dont go to them. But I'll cheer my asss off at the game. There's not one person in here that's confident about any of these three games. They can think we win but I guarantee you theres nobody truly confident.

We have a good team. They have good teams. We have a good chance at winning. But winning all three or even two of three isn't likely. If we had been destroying people I would feel confident but the reality is about twelve teams in the sec could beat each other on any given day.

Hell Georgia fans wouldn't feel confident in winning all three of these games. Tennessee Florida and Missouri are all as good as us. I can enjoy the season and have fun while at the same time realizing we are a Lane Kiffin fourth down decision away from that lsu game and another overtime play away from the usc game.

Hard to expect things to go that good against three teams with more talent than us. I think we can win any of the games. But im not going to act confident. We struggled with Vandy man.

Does the defense keep creating turnovers every game like they have will be the determining factor because our D bends a whole lot and our offense doesn't put that many points on the board. Sec is brutal.

My biggest fear is a toss-up between getting attacked by a grizzly bear, or getting buried alive.

Seeing my favorite college football program go 10-2, didn’t even make my top 1000.

The Cats must win their 2 remaining home games Florida and Louisville. Then spilt the last 2 away games. Looking at the schedules remaining for all of the SEC teams 10-2 will not only get the Cats in the Playoffs it will get them a date in the SEC Championship game. At 9-3 the Cats will be a bubble team this year.
