I know it is week 1 and many teams including us had some rust to shake off. So for fun I decided to rank the BIG10 based only on this game. Pretty well only based on what the Vegas line was and how bad they beat their team or didn't. Then my opinion sprinkled in.

1.Wisc -10 won 49-0
2.Penn St No lines won 79-7
3. Maryland -29 won 79-0
4. Illinois -18 won 42-3
5. Rutgers -17 won 48-21
6. Ohio St -27 won 45-21
7. Mich St -23 won 28-7
8. Iowa -25 won 38-14
9. Michigan -36 won 40-21
10. Indiana -18 won 34-28
11. MN -14 won 28- 21
12 Nebraska. -36 won 35-21
13.NW +6 Lost 17-7
14. Purdue - 11 Lost 34-31

I’ll chime in after the Colorado game. I REFUSE to get worked up over week one struggles with our offense having an off game. Plus side is, our defense played GREAT. So there is that. But again...I’m holding my tongue till after this Colorado Fluff game. GBR

You putting B1G money down on Rutgers?
  1. Ohio State is always team to beat in Big Ten! There first real test is likely in Lincoln, first road test of 2019?
  2. Wisconsin - open Big Ten against Michigan, by hosting Wolverines, which really will help sort out hype for 2019?
  3. Michigan State - injuries hurt Spartans B1G in 2018; may be top defense in B1G in 2019?
  4. Penn State - beat FCS team that dropped from FBS, which is rare and not a positive!
  5. Iowa - they look improved on offense. Work in progress, overall, but Nate Stanley threw for 70% pass completions and had 3 TD passes to 3 most experienced B1G WRs for Hawkeyes (though Martin got his first B1G TD for Michigan)
  6. Michigan - not sold on Jim Harbaugh or new OC Gattis quite yet?
  7. Northwestern - they lost to Akron last year, so not taking 10-7 score on basically 59 minute mark at Stanford as panic!
  8. Minnesota - they won opener, which reminds me of 2009 when Iowa beat UNI, on blocking back to back FGs.
  9. Maryland - Fool's gold?
  10. Indiana - nice win to open season over Ball State!
  11. Nebraska - offense has work to do and first true test is Week 2 on road!
  12. Illinois - more experience in 2019, but can they start 4-0?
  13. Purdue - this week is huge one for Boilers .... two P5 opponents coming to West Lafayette in back to back weeks!
  14. Rutgers - UMass scored 21 points early in 1st, then later Scarlet Knights scored 41 unanswered in final 3 quarters.

F- no. I think some are misunderstand what this post was. This was not my opinion and ranking on the best teams in the league. I am fully aware Ohio St, Penn St, Mich, Wisc, t are towards the top, Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland are towards the bottom and Neb MN NW, Iowa, Mich St, Purdue are somewhere in the middle. This was just a fun/ funny way to look at week 1 and the results.

You realize that the Iowa line was Iowa -21.5 and covered right?

That is deceptive. Because with 5 min left it was a 7 point game. This game was much closer than the score shows. That is why their ranking was low.

I've come back in off the ledge and have decided to throw game one out. Husker offense should hang 42 + on CO. I think we may give up 28.

What game were you watching? You need to work on your troll game

Sorry it was a 10 (24-14) pt game with 5:56. Ohio had the ball and threw an Int at like the 20 yard line which led to an Iowa score. At one point in the 2nd Ohio was up 7-3. It took till the 3rd for you to even make it a 2 score game.
You can try to spin it however you like. This was a game Iowa should have dominated from the start to finish. It was close with 5 min left.
P.s You managed to find the 1 site that had them as a 21pt all other sites had them at 24.5 or higher.

And I tried to point that out a couple times. Iowa didn’t look good either. AJ Epenesa started the game and only had 1 tackle and 1 pass deflection. The Iowa defense only had 1 sack and 2 tackles for lose...That’s it. Like you said...it was mid or late 4th quarter before Iowa got two late TDs to make it look better. Take those away...Ohio kept it close. It was 24-14 till the 5:56 mark of the 4th Quarter. Iowa got a couple garbage time scores to help the score out.

I am confused. You said the Iowa game was close with 5:56 left in the game and then they scored 2 more times. How can they be garbage time scores if the game is close?

Either your reading is bad or worded my post wrong. I said it was close until the 5:56 mark and then Iowa adds to two garbage time scores to help the score to look better. Sorry but garbage time scores are what they are...just late scores on a team to help pad the stats. Ohio made a game of it till late. Ohio of Miami was going toe to toe with Iowa till late 4th quarter. Iowa didn’t just come out blow them out of the waters...it took two late scores to make the game look good for Iowa. End of story.

I disagree. I thought Iowa looked really good. I’m not looking forward to playing them based off of week 1 results.

You’re allowed your opinion. To me...being 14-24 late 4 quarter against Miami of Ohio...that’s not “Really Good” in my books.

lol first week ranking.
psu played an fcs team that was 4-7 last year
maryland played Howard a 4-6 team last year that playes in fcs meac conference
illinois played akron a 4-8 mac team last year with a new coach
wisconsin played a team that has lost 7 straight games and been outscored 285-121 in those 7 games.

the only thing we might have learned is purdue has problems at DB they are playing multiple freshmen and OL
msu offense offense still has problems

They punted 1 time and held Ohio to less than 60 yds rushing and won by 4 scores. My line was -22 on the game.
