During the Osborne and Solich eras it was possible to watch Saturday scrimmages in spring. As long as you were discreet, they'd leave you alone. It seemed like once Solich started to struggle a little bit, and more details were appearing on the message boards all the time, they started cracking down. That's too bad, because it was a lot of fun. I remember going around 1998-2000. Dominic Raiola and Carlos Polk were big trash talkers. It was cool to sit back in the empty stands, seeing and hearing things you normally wouldn't during an actual game.
