I think Dan could make a good NFL coach. He's a control freak that's made a lot of good hires. Hell, I think several members of his staff would do well in the NFL. They all hate recruiting. He should make the jump.

I've been on this bandwagon for a while. Dan's biggest weakness is his recruiting. He just doesn't seem to like it, so an NFL gig would seem pretty appealing, not to mention the prestige that comes along with it. He's been pretty cozy with the Cowboys since Dak got there.

There's no question in my mind Mullen would take the gig, but would Dallas go that direction? They would have to strike out on Sean Payton, Lincoln Riley and probably Mike Zimmer first, but I could see a scenario where they decide to go all in with Dak and Mullen becomes part of that deal.

Would also be really sweet to see all the sad faced Gator fans losing another coach so soon.

I want this to happen for the sole purpose of rooting for Stricklin to completely botch the search and hire Ron Zook II.

I don't see this happening unless the Cowboys, Dak & Dan all want to be married together for the next half decade or more.

Can't quite put my finger on it, but I can see Dan Mullen being a better NFL than college coach. Agree with a lot that's been said in this thread.

Dan would have to take QB up the middle plays out of his playbook, and hire someone to give him a more sophisticated passing attack....otherwise, it could work.

Don't think he could replicate what Baltimore does? I'm not sure it's sustainable either tbh.

December Dan is on the lookout for another job and paying no attention to the Orange Bowl looming ahead...where have I seen this before?

You can't be a control freak in the NFL though. Your players are grown men. Some our wild, but you can't control what they do when they aren't at the facility. In college you pretty much set each player's full time schedule.

Being the HC of Dallas is probably the job where the HC has the least amount of control actually. Jerry runs the show there.

What do you mean? UF couldn't run the ball at all this year. Dan used the Dak Prescott offense with Trask. Just like us in 2015 or whenever it was, we could throw it all over the yard but couldn't run a lick with Holloway up the middle. OL was terrible. OM sacked Dak like 9x I think in that EB.
