I have no idea why he doesn't play more. It ain't gonna change though. 3 regular season games left then it's win or go home. His time is running out.

In no way is Mulder any worse of a defender than any of our other guards. I'm not sure at this point why he even tries. Knocked down a big three in second half after playing good d and fighting on the glass. Immediately Cal yanked him out. Must be a helluva good kid to keep fighting like he does. Too bad he wasn't a Mickey D boy.

The Mulder situation certainly is a mystery. I am no one to question Cal as he is a far better coach than I am or have been but you just wonder what it is that keeps him from playing Mulder more. I've heard the defensive woes before but none of our guards are defensive wizards out there and Mulder is a good rebounder as well as shooter so he does bring something to the table.

Rather than delete this game, I am going to go back and watch every one of his 9 mins and see what pisses Cal off so much. He was 3-6 from 3 last game, and 1-1 tonight, but the guy can't get PT to save his life.

When I saw Mulder hit that 3, I said aloud, "Now Cal...Leave him IN!" So much for what I thought. I mean, dang, let the kid play and at least have a chance to BE in the flow of the game and get a few more shots.

He looked like his feet were in concrete in the one straight line drive he gave up but I agree he needs more clock.

He's by far the worst defender among our guards.

Because it would mean less minutes for Briscoe or Monk and that's not happening on Cal's watch.

Bingo. This is a fact and Cal protecting his blue chips came out in full force tonight. Justifiable or not, it cannot be denied at this point. Unless you are a SKJ type and totally check out entirely, he will protect you until the end, period.

No we also see 6 turnovers and poor defense from one of our other guards and wonder why they get a pass.
Well that will happen when you willfully ignore the 9 pts 5 rbs and 3 ast . The only thing Mulder can do is bomb threes and that fascinates some with a cult like following . If Mulder was a more balanced player then he would play more . Briscoe does far more for this team than Mulder . You don't have to like that because it's irrelevant, Briscoe will play more because he's better .

Ok, just finished watching, and #1 he was not immediately pulled after hitting the 3. I think he was in for 3 more offensive possessions. He got in 3 times in the first half and twice in the second half. As for his defense, he got score on twice for 5 pts, but which of our guards don't do that? His overall defense was fine, and he attacked the boards and hustled on every play. I don't think it's necessarily that Cal gets upset with him, but more that he just wants to play Briscoe and Monk more, even if they aren't hitting.

It takes willful ignorance to defy the logic right infront of your eyes. No one is that stupid.

Cal is recruiting 24/7. He's already admitted this much. Sitting Briscoe and giving half of his minutes to a transfer is not going to happen for the very reason cal is successful in his eyes. Recruiting. Even if you believe in that, and I do to great extent, it is what it is.

Cal would still pull plenty of talent using Briscoe as a 6th man getting lots of minutes. But he doesn't think it would help moving Briscoe along and so he won't even if it helped the team. It's the biggest downside to Cal.

Another example would be how in the heck does WG get the start over DW tonight when you look at recent performances. There's defintely two standards.

Yea that 1:2 assist to turnover ratio was stunning. Briscoe might be a better all around player. And I do like his toughness. But for this teams needs in spreading the floor and not having another ball stopper on the floor Mulder just might be the better option.

Some guys don't sit enough.

Ok, let's do some math. Cal plays 7 - 8 guys. You have the five starters + Willis, Hawkins and Hump (Bam backup). That's 8. It's the end of the season. Mulder is not going to see much time. End of story.

We are not playing well. Do you just stand pat and let the chips fall where they may which is likely an early exit? Or try something else?

Hey looky , you managed to focus on one bad thing to base an argument while ignoring anything else . Just like focusing on three pointers , you're as one dimensional as Mulder . You can pine for him to play but the better player is going to get minutes , that's life .

Some players are better suited for 6th man. Briscoe fits the mold of that to a T. I'm fine with Briscoe getting big minutes, but they need to be moved around to accommodate what we need. Briscoe playing 30+ minutes in the tournament with a collapsed defense will beat Uk in the tourney. Believe that or don't, you'll get to see it.

Mulder is 3rd on the team in Pts per 40 mins.

Ahead of Fox, Monk and Hawkins in Rebs per 40 mins and Blocks per 40 mins.

Has a better Turnover margin per 40 mins than Fox and Monk.

Lastly, his PER (Player Efficiency Rating) is 4th on the team, behind Fox, Monk and Bam.
