I don’t think he’s a great shooter at this point in his career but think he’s capable . The rest of this kids game is polished and he is simply a playmaker that makes everyone better . Plus you can tell he has some swag and is a gamer . Would be a great get

That is a very low release point- makes him effectively under 6’. Will certainly hold him back unless he gets it addressed.

He uses all of his 6’5” around the basket and passing over the defense to the basket. While low I think his release is much quicker than Thiam’s this past season. I think with a little strength he can get that shot off in our league. The handle is really good for a 6’5” rising junior. That kid could be 6’6”+ in college.

I thought the same thing especially regarding his handle.

He looks really good and he still has 2 more years of HS play. Its nice to see we are in on him early in the process and hopefully we can land a 6'5 PG. Baker, Mathis and this kid and we are really moving along nicely with BIG guards.

If he does, just don't try to do it four weeks before the seasn. Markelle Fultz is finding that out the hard way. I feel so bad for that kid.

This kid is very showing of how much fundamentals are in high demand in basketball these days.

Dribbles with his head up at all times. The basics are skipped often.

He would certainly help Rutgers out.

Find me a guy that has ever had that release point low at the college or NBA level? It's how kids shoot in middle school

Changing your release point is incredibly hard. Thiam won't end up doing it either.

This guys release is fast. Risk/reward is not worth it. You can totally mess with your ability to shoot at all.

Fair point, but he is young. We're not talking about a 20 year old here. He still may be in transition from his "kid" jump shot to his "adult" jump shot. I know my release is a lot higher than when I was a sophomore in high school.

He has time. ...and I do like what I see with respect to the rest of his game. Seems like he sees the floor really well and good court sense in general

If you watch videos of Geo when he was younger his release point was lower too. Now its very high.
I believe it will come naturally to him.

Just thinking back Rob Hodgson didn't have the highest release point either.

It is hard, but if you are an athlete, and he is, with proper commitment, its something that can be accomplished.

If you have a quick release you can make up for a low release point . Obviously having both would be ideal but it’s not a deal breaker if you can get shots off quick and know how to create space . Also being 6’4 helps as well

He changed his shot because he was hurt and raise his arm high enough to shoot his normal shot.

Man this kid looks impressive. I definitely noticed the upgraded handles and I like his vision/poise. Who is the PF/C in the yellow shoes that he was passing off too a fair amount?
