looks like MSU going down. Something is not quite right with this team. They have 2 lottery picks and a stud college forward in Ward, and a killer supporting cast too. The 2nd half of the season they have not been as good as they should be.

Unlike Purdue against us, they are not knocking down their threes like they usually do. Michigan has twice as many threes and that's been the difference. Also, MSU's offensive rebounding today has been atrocious. They've had too many one and done.

They had 13 straight wins....probably better off with a loss to refocus vs trying to get to 20 straight wins and a National Championship.

Bridges is not the stud that he should be. He should be taking over games with his talent but defers way too much.

MSU will be a handful for any team which plays it in the big dance. I will be surprised if Izzo's club does not at least make the Elite Eight.

3 losses in the year before today. How much better can you really expect?
You're right their record is stellar but I've watched them and keep waiting for them to be incredible (which they should be--they should be a NC favorite) but instead they have just gotten by. that sounds weird with 29 wins but I just think they should be better.

Michigan played really good team ball. They really stifled MSU and forced them into many one and done situations. Bridges was really off today as was Winston. Ward seemed to be a non-factor.

I think it's the guard play at MSU . They lack a true point guard that can make plays for their superior big guys.

I don't know about that. Most teams don't have what one would call a true point guard. Winston, I think is just fine in creating. MSU should be more consistent with its talent and as another poster in this thread stated, they just seem to be off. I agree with that. Let's see how they do in the NCAA tournament. They certainly have the talent to get to the Final Four. But will they utilize that talent and get there? That's a question for another day that can't be answered here.

for Beilein's decades long history as an offensive mastermind that had teams that just barely got by on defense, his team this year is elite defensively. They were #9 in KenPom prior to this game and will move up after holding MSU < 1 PPP. It's strong enough defense, that if the jump shots are falling they can probably beat any team in the country including the 1 seeds.

I said last night Nebraska loss wasn’t that bad as Michigan playing as well as any team in the country.

If they continue to play like this, this team IMO can be a dark-horse in the tournament and can possibly get not only to the Sweet 16 but possibly the Elite 8, because of that defense. Good post above btw.

Izzo and MSU will show up when it counts, they are a nightmare matchup for most in the country..as is Michigan...both along with Purdue have final 4 potential given the right path

Patrick is right. Although they are 29-4, they have not dominated consistently like Villanova or Virginia. They beat Ru twice in tight games, Iowa gave them all they could handle down the stretch, Wisconsin also twice in a week barely lost. From my vantage point, Izzo is either pissed at Nick Ward or does not play him enough. Also Langford hits big shot after big shot most of the year but Izzo calling for isolation plays for Bridges and Jackson in the last 4-5 games. I think they are unstoppable when they play inside out, dump to Ward and run Langford around curls for 2’s and 3’s and then let the offense come to Bridges and Jackson instead of forcing isolation . They are not playing at peak efficiency but Izzo has 12-13 days to figure it out. They certainly have as much talent as any team in the country with incredible depth and should based upon that win it all!

He is too worried about all the money his Mama is collecting from prospective agents.

Everything he said but and it’s a big but...for a great team they turn over the ball an awful lot.
