Also, it's one thing to throw a punch. It's another to be swinging your helmet like one of the MSU players did.
C'mon! It is just boys being boys!
Back in the 90's they would have ripped his legs off and it all would have been no big deal.

sure, swinging helmets should get you no less than sitting for several games. "jump" them? If this kid came up to one of them or four of them and said crap he shouldn't have said, he should full well expect a fist to his face, from every one of em. That's not getting jumped, that's called being a dumb m'fker who got what he was asking for. You talk some garbage on the field? I get it. You make it a point to confront a few guys after the game and run your mouth, you are asking for it, you didn't get "jumped."
Hi Mel Tucker, appreciate you weighing in. Thoughts on the attitude you want to bring to Nebraska if hired?

I think the fact that we are arguing the definition of what "getting jumped" is...shows that this was bad.

You think you would just space them out by like...60 seconds. Is it that hard?
Which is exactly what they were doing, and the Michigan “victim” ignored it and danced up the tunnel into about 60 dudes wearing White sports outfits

Man, I’m usually with you 100% on your Scott Frost takes and how he did nothing but blame Mike Riley for his own problems. But this….

Can you really not see that acting like a jerk (again, total speculation) doesn’t mean he deserved a beat down? Or that players using helmets as a weapon is a totally ridiculous response?

Even if you’re into vigilante justice, how were those numbers fair? Even if it had been 1 on 1, I could see your point somewhat.

Crutch is right if you actually watch the recording of with both of the teams we’re leaving the field..

Michigan is suppose to let the visiting team exit first, this player jumped in and went ahead as the MSU players were making their way into the tunnel toward their locker room..

Watch the 3rd video Headcard put out..

Tucker is suspending players over this.

Lol.

What's he telling them? "When we are coming off the field, nobody is allowed to fight but ME, got it?"
All Tucker did was slap away the hand of some obnoxious dipshit who thought it would be funny to reach down and pat him on the head. If Tucker wanted to fight, he would pulled that dumbass over the rail and beat the living crap out of him.

The tunnel scene was ugly, could have resulted in serious injury, and people need to be held accountable for it. But Tucker slapping away a guy's hand is a non-event that some Michigan fan thought would be cool for the world to see.

Supposedly, he was going in for treatment due to injury. I can’t verify that, but I also can’t verify that it’s not the case.

I do know that, of all the videos that have surfaced, not one of them shows the guy taunting or showboating. Unless only Wolverine fans happened to own camera phones that night, you’d think at least one Spartan fan would have a video corroborating the showboating and taunting that people are alleging. There were recruit parents for both teams in the tunnel; in fact, the 2nd helmet swinging video was taken by a Spartan recruit’s mother.

I completely agree that, treatment or not, the guy should have stayed with his teammates on the field until the tunnel was cleared for the Wolverines. And although that tunnel has gone for many years without incident, it has been increasingly problematic in the last few years and Michigan needs to address it. Still doesn’t justify Sparty’s reaction, though.

I’m saying he isn’t blameless. That’s it. He caught a beating, and those responsible should be held responsible. Not once did I say they shouldn’t. Don’t let that ruin a good narrative I guess

Ok, so we’re not all that far apart on this. Fair enough.

all players involved suspended for a game including the dumbass instigator. the guy cowardly swinging a helmet at the dumbass instigator while he's down should be suspended for the rest of the year.
michigan should be fined for not providing security at a known trouble point.
msu coach suspended a game for repeated fan scrums.
fan identified and banned for a game or two.

There was a tweet saying that the fan who reached down and swiped at Tucker was already identified by stadium security, escorted out, and banned from future UM sporting events. 1 down, a few more to go.

Moronic fan is moronic

Watching the video again. The MSU guys are innocent and should be given medals for holding back the way they did...the Michigan player should be arrested.

Fan should be gone forever, coach slapped on the wrist, Michigan player at least 3 games, Sparty players the same, the guy using a weapon (helmet) booted off the team with criminal charges. Michigan better figure out how to manage this crap, and at minimum be told any players or staff in the tunnel when the opposing team is… means they will be punished, up to and including a forfeit if it is egregious enough. Of course they should kick them out of the league if they mention they’d like to play football.

Is it common for guys skip and dance into the opposing teams looking for “injury treatment”? I haven’t played the game in a couple decades, I guess that could be a thing now?

Talk about not letting facts ruin a good narrative…

Again, just one video showing proof that he started anything, and I’ll admit that I’m wrong. I suspect that you wouldn’t do the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

I'm not sure that words or dancing deserves a beat down, but then, I've never been dumb enough to do it in front of 20 guys who just got whooped, are mad and at that moment, hate me.

Ikr? And when some teams win back a trophy like the Little Brown Jug, Floyd of Rosedale, Paul Bunyan, etc, they actually rush the other team’s sideline and grab the thing without waiting for the other team to leave (and I don’t think they even say ‘please’ or ‘thank you’). They run, skip, and probably even gallop all the way over there, too. Invading another team’s space when emotions are still running high from the game is clearly taunting; definitely grounds for a good ol’ fashioned beat down.

Strangely enough, it never seems to result in a brawl. I guess it’s a lot easier to be all badass when it’s 10 on 1.

Not being able to be a man and control yourself is soft. Jumping someone isn’t being tough or being a man, it’s soft.
Now doesn’t jumping someone present an entirely different scenario than what these clips are showing? Look, I think people who jump people are POS, but this doesn’t resemble to me of what I feel is “getting jumped.” JMO.

How does this not happen every week with Michigan's one tunnel for both teams?
The one tunnel has been there for over 90 years without any incidents.
Last year with OSU was on Michigan but basically a bunch of young men yelling at each other.

The one with PSU was on Franklin. He let his guys stay out in the tunnel at halftime while Michigan was coming in. Michigan got hit with PBJ sandwiches. Both teams walked thru the tunnel after the game without any issues.

This one with MSU is all on them. You actually think 2 guys going to go thru the tunnel with all the MSU players there are going to talk ****?

BTW, MSU has one tunnel.

With all that said I do believe things can be done in the future to avoid this happening.

Good luck against Minnesota and see you at the Big House next week.

Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, actually having a firm grip on reality, it wouldn't surprise me one iota if the 2 Michigan guys were talking ****. Not that I said they were, but since when do young cocky guys know "when to keep their mouth shut?" Your rationale is dumb. You say "90 years without any incidents" and then you spend a paragraph discussing multiple incidents.

Go directly to your locker room and never take your helmet off until you're in your own locker room. Words of advise I got when I played and remember to this day and I'm an old dude of 70.

From my understanding from a Michigan friend, the opposing team enters the locker rooms first before the Michigan players..

Watching the video the Michigan player that was attacked went in the same time with the MSU players that were heading into the tunnel..
Can’t fix stupid

Regardless of what led up to it, some Michigan State players deserve to be suspended for what could have turned into a very ugly incident. But I find it amusing that Harbaugh has played dumb this whole time, acting as if the multiple long bombs and reverse pass he called late in the game had nothing to do with the game getting so chippy at the end. What a douche.

How do these two coaches still have jobs? Lack of institutional control. Egregious violations of human rights and dignity. I never.

How is Michigan absolutely idiotic enough to have a shared tunnel especially after an instate rivalry Game full of emotion. They have some dumb administrators
