Any “official” spot next Saturday near the Garden for RU fans to have some libations before the hoops game?

must one be an alumni to attend? Or just to register?
Does anyone have any other recommendations for solid places to grab lunch and a drink within 1-3 blocks of Penn Station?

Legends. I’ve thrown 2 pre-Pinstripe Bowl Parties there. Fantastic spot, very good food, tons of TV’s. It’s a huge soccer bar, and home to the LSU viewing parties, so there’s lots of cool stuff on the walls and whatnot as well.
Word of warning: avoid “Rick’s”!!!

Tracks which used to be in Penn Station has moved to brick and mortar in the area. You also have MSG food hall right outside Penn next to garden.
INSANELY EXPENSIVE IIRC

Tracks or the food hall? I only said food hall as it's literally right outside and would be quick. I haven't been to Tracks yet since they closed in Penn but the one in Penn was magical!
Expensive but tasty. Lots of choices. Gets packed
Southern Italian food? Ribs in Red Gravy?Love this place for simple Southern Italian food and great pizza:

Any ideas for a good sports bar or Irish pub near Madison Square Garden to hang out for a few drinks before the game?
Tir Na Nog is good and right next to MSG.
Went last Friday for lunch. Ate at Pat Lafreida's. Not a huge hall like Todd English under the Plaza. But OK for a quick bite.
For the craft beer fans, highly recommend Haymaker on 29th and 8th
Not sure what time folks are looking to pregame, but some of the places around MSG dont open all that early. Triple Crown (28th and 7th) isn't anything special but they open at like 8am (they show alot of Euro soccer) so its usually a place to grab a drink before an early game at MSG.That's where my crew is headed.
Have a small group taking the train to NYC for the Rutgers Michigan game Saturday. Will unfortunately miss the wrestling and arrive at Penn Station around 2:30pm. Any ideas for a good sports bar or Irish pub near Madison Square Garden to hang out for a few drinks before the game?
RU RAH RAH!
Lift one for me...[cheers]A group of us are heading to American Whiskey on 30th St. around 1:30. Good food and an amazing selection of the hard stuff.
