Why is the Home Field dugout located on the Third Base side of the field here,
since it it usually behind on the First Base side? I don't know if i have ever seen
it different than that anywhere else. Inquiring minds want to know.

It varies based on the field. Most teams use first base, but quite a few are third base side as well. It is up to the home team.

Virginia's home dugout is on third baseline, too.

Oakland A’s dugout is. I imagine there’s at least one other team in that majors, probably several.

Twelve . . . Diamondbacks, Cubs, White Sox, Indians, Tigers, Angels, Dodgers, Marlins, Athletics, Pirates, Giants, and Blue Jays.

If I had to guess, a factor may be the direction of the field. I know in HS some of the teams that have their dugout on the 3rd base side want the sun beating down on the visiting dugout.
