You would think that some would have learned by now that attacking our program and its coaches with vitriol and hate gets us nowhere. How many coaches do we have to go through before we get if figured out?

This fan base is as much of the problem as anything. We need to just get the F out of the way. Im just as frustrated and disgusted as anyone but all of this crap is an issue in itself.

If you don't like it don't watch it.

People don’t like to hear it..but 20 years of terrible football really only has one common denominator. Us. Are we the sole problem? Of course not. But the fish bowl pressure cooker that is Nebraska football doesn’t seem to be helping coaches and players excel.

I think we finally have a head coach who can be an effective manager of the program. Yeah maybe he isn't the greatest clock management guy, but like it or not, that's a small part of running a program like NU. He's hired Dana and he's turned over the keys to him. He's proven he's willing to make tough staff decisions. If this doesn't work, I'm not sure anything ever will. Frost was such a huge disappointment. Clearly he was the only choice acceptable for NU fans. The timing was perfect. The fit seemed perfect. Damn.

I love how people assume Rhule is a nice guy ***** because of what they see at press conferences and on the University sanctioned videos released. These are the same people that believe Trump reads the bible because he released a line of them or that Biden can still finish the junior jumble in the paper because he said he could.

In 2 years here we’ve been forced to fire at least one coach weeks prior to the season starting 100% of the time due to off-field transgressions.

In 50% of Rhule’s seasons here he neglected to hire a coach for the most important position in all of sports (QB).

Game management has led directly to losses. He was forced to make a change due to abhorrent and inexcusable on-field performance and the second new eyes get here it’s “why don’t you block? It’s embarrassing.”

10-12.

Nothing about Matt Rhule’s NU suggests “effective management”. Literally nothing.

None of the above has anything to do with frost or the fans.

Yeah, and I know you said the same things about Frost, and Riley, and Bo and on and on and on since TO. This time it's different. This guy is finally the answer. Yeah, he's got some problems, but look at all the good stuff he's doing. You're an eternal optimist, which is fine. But some of us are sick of it and tired of having false hope over and over. It's the definition of insanity.

Imagine actually typing the words “clock management is a small part of running the program”.

It’s a microcosm for Rhule’s entire tenure here so far. It has EVERYTHING to do with how he runs the program.

Bafflingly stupid on all accounts.

I'm pissed off about where we're at but I support Rhule 100% at THIS POINT. Why? What choice is there? All I can do is hope he can figure this trash heap out. I want to win now, not in 5 years.

I’m guilty of supporting our coach who has been here less than 2 years and who is doing things that I wanted done. Riley made a bowl game his second year and had us ranked for a while. SOOO I supported him until the Diaco debacle. Frost was EVERYBODY’s answer. I didn’t think he deserved that extension OR being retained that last year. NONE of those were irrational emotional positions. The piling on to Rhule is in fact emotional, irrational and self defeating.

literally nothing about Rhule's program appears organized or well-oiled.

literally nothing.

glad you enjoy hearing him speak. it's clear most everyone else has heard enough and wants to see it on the field.

you do this pig-headed thing where you damn the torpedos (reality) and put your foot in the ground about certain people, insisting that reality isn't reality and anyone who uses their eyes and brain is being emotional.

same exact script with purdy (he'll be a UDFA! nope, he's a Mountain West benchwarmer on a terrible team) now repeating itself with our head elf.

I do think his high school recruiting seems to be organized and planned. He is the first coach to not under sign and I thought his use of NIL walk-ons was something the last coaches wouldn't have been smart enough to do. He also closed some hard fought battles like Brix where I don't think we win those 5 years ago or 10 years ago.

I still can’t get over him not trying to win at the end of the Wisconsin game last year. Never saw anyone pass up an opportunity to win and instead play for a tie and overtime.

So the answer is more of this please. How embarrassing is it a new hire comes in and ask why players aren't doing a basic football fundamental. BLOCKING tackling. Etc. Didn't anyone have the balls to tell a paid employee to do their job or get the F out. Rhule didn't. Enter the hatchet man.

No. I'm just not going to worry over things I have no control over. We hired Rhule to rebuild the program. Sure, we'd like win sooner rather than later. If you can't stand the process then just check out until Rhule's contract is over. Hopefully, we will turn the corner soon. I'm not going to sweat yesrs one and two. It does make it hard as a fan though.

Im going to guess that you voted for a guy similar to what you are describing on the very first and 2nd line. I would think that that correlation alone would give you some patience and understanding with regards to the highest profile job in the state.

This is what I find funny with some of you guys. You don't apply the same standard to many of the people that you believe are supreme leaders. Tremendous leaders. Bold leaders. Tough guy leaders.

I've been to practice. I've seen Rhule chew ***, and expect perfection. Your anger is misguided.

Did you apply for the head coaching job? After having to listen to your constant rants over the years, you seem to have all the answers. I mean; you're always the first to tell us what the issues are, and aren't. Your track record throughout your multiple identities seems to have one goal, and that is to undermine a group of fans while disparaging the Huskers as a whole. Honestly, nothing positive ever comes from your rants, and that goes back to your Rambo screen name wishing ill will to a decent person. Calm down; your tendency to criticize all aspects related to the Huskers simply because they do not align with your perspective is brash. It's a very narcissistic attitude.

The definition of insanity fits exactly what we have been doing as a fan base. Calling for new coaches after 2 seasons.

Let it play out. There is good things that can blossom if we just stop with all of this other BS. To be honest this program needs less limelight to maybe have time to rebuild.

too bad both of these feathers in his cap (not undersigning, walk-on program) will be obsolete in '25 and beyond.

Lane Kiffin was on Cowherd yesterday explaining how he handles the transfer portal. Basically, you can take some questionable locker room guys, but you can't too many and you have to have them at a position group that is mature and stable.

He also had an interesting take on why he plans to stay in CFB. Said in CFB you get rewarded for winning. Winning equals better recruiting. In the NFL winning gets you higher draft picks. I think they also give you a harder schedule?

I get why all the constant bitching. It's deserved. It's also exhausting, pointless and adds to the misery of the whole MFing mess. Rhule is here next season, 100%. No amount of bitching will change that. Maybe I'm a moron for hoping for anything at this point, but I hope we make a bowl game and I hope Rhule improves in many areas.

I'll have to give that a listen. Lane is always a delight and candid.

yes, winning in the NFL is rewarded with what on paper should be a more difficult schedule (1st place division finishers play other 1st place division finishers the next year).
