If you’re ever over around Portsmouth, hit me up.
OP will love Ohio. Especially southwest Ohio. So much to do. Short drive to Amusement parks, concert venues, a ton of great restaurants and steakhouses. Kings Island, Skyline chili, LaRosa’s, Graeters, Montgomery Inn, Jeff Ruby steakhouses, etc... The list goes on and on. You will enjoy it there OP!
Ironically I recently moved from Centerville to North Carolina. Asheville to be exact. I'm in love with this place.
Yeah it is get on 36 to 71 I run transportation in Ohio. I run people from Centerburg MT Vernon, Deleware etc. To Columbus and Riverside hospital your 10-15 minutes from Polaris area where Cabela's, Bass Pro strip clubs bars restaurants etc..Nope
That's a pretty crappy list. Skyline Chili is awful. Pretty much every major city on the east coast has better restaurants than that. So it's pretty much just Kings Island, which North Carolina Blue Wildcat will know as "hey its Carowinds but smaller."
I've only ever heard good things about the culture around Asheville. I need to visit there someday on one of my road trips south.

More breweries per capita than any city in the nation. Beer City USA last 3 years but lost to Grand Rapids I believe this year.
Amazing outdoorsman area. Surrounded by national forests. French Broad river. Davidson River. Great trout fishing, biking/hiking trails, beautiful water falls, etc.
40 minute drive from highest point in USA east of the Mississippi.
On all the top 25 lists of best food scenes in the USA.
Biltmore Residence. Largest privately owned house in the USA. Big tourist trap though. Worth checking out once.
Very eclectic hippy town folk who....... lets just say don't share many of the same political beliefs held in the majority of the rest of the south. I personally love this part.
Only problem is cost of living has been going through the roof the last 10 years. Affordable housing is very hard to find.
Oh and practically decriminalized weed if you stay in Buncombe Cointy
I will never leave.
Edit: to the guy trashing Asheville and acting like Cincy even holds a candle to it as a great city is laughable. Did I mention I lived over half of my life in Dayton, so I know cincy very well too. You just dont like hippies lmao.
More pans handlers per capita than anywhere I’ve ever been to...can’t enjoy downtown anymore-people begging for handouts everywhere you go. Used to love Asheville, not so much anymore.

Cops have been cracking down on them hardcore this last year. Seems like its all they do. Less beggars/pan handlers now but more buskers/street performers which are fun to watch for the tourists. Personally, they don't bug me enough considering all the plusses to living here for me.

Not one thing you said about Asheville sounds appealing, but to each their own. There are craft beer places every where now a days, so no bid deal there!More breweries per capita than any city in the nation. Beer City USA last 3 years but lost to Grand Rapids I believe this year.

Ohio has medical 420 going on.
That Clearcreek Township? Have several coworkers who live out that way and love it. I'm in Washington Township. We are off 48, on the north end of Springboro, just on the Centerville line. Easier to get into Centerville than Springboro.

You gotta be basically dying to get it here. You guys would prefer Michigan. And suddenly Ohio has redeemed itself

You’ll miss the milder winters of nc. winter here really sucks, grey, depressing. if your dish/cable goes out you might not make it. good luck. gbb
Don’t do it. Ohio sucks so bad. Terrible.
It's literally the only thing keeping Kentucky from sliding into Tennessee.
You poor soulCenterville area-where’s the best places locallly to catch UK football and baksetball? Quick search didn’t return anything.
People in Kentucky hate Ohioans and so do people from Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania. What’s that tell you?
You might want to practice driving 50 in the left lane. Leave your blinker on for extra credit.
Also, if you do venture to Beavercreek, bear in mind that they pronounce it in one breath, with the emphasis on the "Beav", as if some guy named Johnny Beavercreek laid that berg out. Just inhale and blurt it out.
Lucky you-Been away from NC for 8 years now. This group can help you out.
