Hey gang. I'm new here...new in that I have been a member for around 10 years or so but have never posted a new thread. Anyway................

Re-watching the Delaware State game just now, Meg Bulger mentioned Chuggs' younger brother, Mitch (who caught an eight pass from his older brother as she was just talking about him no less) and that got me to thinking; something I've never really considered before: Mountaineer Siblings. I counted seven sets. Maybe you all could help fill in the ones that I may have missed or maybe didn't even know about.

The obvious and current ones: The Chugunovs , The Whites, The Whites again (Pat and Coley), Scooter Berry (half brother to Jason Gwaltney), the Tonkerys, The Pettaways and the Bulgers. Who am I missing here?

I believe that Darryl Talley and John Talley are brothers. Darryl played from 1979 to 1982 and is in the WVU Sports Hall of Fame. John played from 1984 to 1987. Both, I believe, went on to play in the pros.

I have some, but maybe not the big names...

Seth and Zack Abraham - brothers from Wheeling WV
Jacquez and Jordan Adams - brothers from Reistertown, MD
Darren and Justin Arndt - Cousins from Martinsburg, WV
Bryan and Charlie Baumann - brothers from Erie, PA (other brother is Randy from WDVE Pittsburgh)
Shea and Jonah Campbell - brothers from Morgantown, WV
Michael and Brendan Ferns - brothers from St. Clairsville, OH.

Also, are you counting any connection with the program, like Ja’Juan Seider and his brother Ja’HSaun?

I am sure there are plenty more, didn't we just get a son of a former Mountaineer a few years ago (name escapes me...I am getting too old.)

Talleys are brothers. John, who played wide receiver 4 years with the Browns, lives across the street from my daughter in Brunswick. Darryl lives in Florida and, I think, was the toughest tackler in WVU history. Darryl had a long career with the Buffalo Bills. John met his wife on his first day at WVU. Becky is from Bluefield. They have two sons who are athletes.

You might be thinking of Eugene Napoleon's son (Eugene, Jr. ?). He was either supposed to come and didn't or was here and left after a short while (like you my memory fails me these days.) A couple of other notable father-sons would be Garrett Ford Sr. and Jr. and J. T. Thomas Sr. and Jr.

That was exactly who I was thinking of! Thank you.

It was said in sarcasm and respect.

Both Knapps were ST players. They were from my old high school. Niether ever got on Scholly which is what I think of when I think of pure walk on.

Zach had to be a scholarship player at some point. Heck his catch from Johnson won the 94 BYB at games end. Neglect had to give him one after that.

Sorry, I did not realize you were being facetious. I did not recognize their names and did not look up statistics.

Zach walked on, but did earned a scholarship for his junior year.

You're welcome. Eugene Napoleon was third string tailback in '88 behind A.B. Brown (transferred from Pitt) and Undra Johnson. I felt he could have started at most schools that year. It seems to me that most years, including the current season, WVU has had good depth at tailback.
