Can't see Coach Chappell coming back. Spartanburg County pays 6 figures. I can see Coach Coleman going back to Ga, though the job he has done at Brevard has been outstanding. I dont know either of these men personally, just know that 6 figures talks and is hard to match in NC!
I was surprised that Coleman ever came back to NC because of how much he enjoyed coaching in Georgia. The Brevard community has definitely been very good to him and I know they’ve more than grown on him.
I think one of the reason Luke came back to N.C was to be closer to his family.His Father was in a nursing home and passed away in March.
As for how many years Brett had in N.C ,he was at Pisgah 10 years and I don't know how many at East. According to Max Prep he was at East 8 years.

Hey Brevard people anybody got any update on how the kessinger kid is doing since last Fridays game? Ik i saw ice on the knee but hoping it was just a stinger
That's terrible for that young man. Hoping for a fast recovery for him. If it's a partial tear and his knee is stable enough, I hope he can still play.
I had heard ACL as well, but it wasn't confirmed. Hate it as he is a senior.

West Stokes appears to have found something later in the season but I don’t think it will be enough to take down the Blue Devils. There will be very few games left that Brevard’s #4 will not be the best athlete on the field. I say let that kid find space. I think the Blue Devils win this one decidedly.
Franklin can do everything Smoky Mountain does just better. I would say watch that tape from last night and go out and execute. I believe Franklin will just be too physical for them.
West Henderson has a tough road ahead of them. I’d love to see them pull off the upset but I believe the Mustangs will be too much.
Pisgah’s game is by no means easy. I believe our style can dictate the game, we just have to execute on offense and get to the ball carrier quick on defense. West Iredell looks to have several ball players that they just try to get the ball to and let them go make plays. We need to play clean, tackle in numbers, and make good use of our possessions. I believe we can and we will.
Tuscola needs to stay out of their own way. If they can, I think this game is winnable for them. However, that seems to have been a lot of their struggle all year. Tuscola needs to keep this game manageable at halftime to have a chance. I don’t think they sustain enough drives on Friday and end up with the loss.
Good luck to all Mtn. 8 squads. I’d love to see 5 wins in the 2nd round. A Pisgah-Tuscola 3rd rnd would be a nice reward!

All 5 teams very much have a good chance at winning. Good news for pisgah folks they're saying west iredell is undisciplined so if they lose they're cool yall will run away with it. Brevard needs to come out firing on all cylinders and make a statement win. Tuscola just needs Crompton to not let his ego get in the way it is a very winnable game for them. Franklin i think will probably try to have a statement win themselves. And like you said west has the toughest road to go but they have the talent to pull off the upset. And would be nice to see a Tuscola pisgah playoff game and hopefully a Brevard pisgah rematch in the 4th rd
As far as I know yes he is. I know the tuscola game he had a stinger in his shoulder and he had a little trouble with it the pisgah game as well. So hopefully the bye week helped
I know he had a shoulder injury against us but came back in and played. #5 had a hamstring injury that kept him out after the first quarter.
Yes, I’ve heard the undisciplined comments on W. Iredell and saw that on some of the film I watched, so hopefully we can keep drives rolling and cause some frustration for them. I didn’t see a team that wanted to be overly physical so putting a few licks on them should slow them down, too.
Predictions for NCHSAA Western Second Round Playoffs
Here are the predictions for the second round of the NCHSAA state playoffs for the Western brackets
Overall good game plan for Pisgah. The offense looked solid and was very well called. If I remember correctly, I do not believe we faced a 4th down all night. West Iredell continually brought someone off the edge on almost every single play. Sometimes it worked to their favor and other times against them for big gains for us to due to no 2nd line of defense.
On defense, we didn’t play our strongest. I felt like with how upright and slow their RB ran the ball we would really punish him as the night went on but he did enough to keep most big hits down. Their QB and receivers did a very good job simply finding holes in the defense and squatting and taking what our D gave them. Their last play before halftime was a shorter pass to the end zone that appeared the receiver didn’t maintain possession before landing out of bounds. (I was on the other side of the field, so that was my long range viewpoint.) West had a very nice thrown ball that just beat us in single man coverage for a TD to #11. Another score they had a designed reverse that went from right to left, we had it contained great, then when almost made it to the sidelines on the left, he reversed it back all the way to the right, then reversed field again and scored just past the middle of the field as time expired in the 3rd. He ran about 115yards for a 20-yard TD.
We intercepted them late in the 4th. They shoved our defender’s body hard into the fence but we then ran our mouths so offsetting penalties. The very next play we ran it up the middle almost untouched to go up 41-26. Game clinched. 0 punts in the ballgame.
They had quite a few encroachment penalties and we worked that pretty good through the game and they also had several personal fouls but we had 2 ourselves, one was defending a buddy, the other we have to control our emotions.
On to round 3 for the Bears.

Franklin’s road becomes very tough next week at Hickory. Hopefully, the coaches put a scheme together that keeps this one within reach for them. Hopefully, Franklin gets the upset but this one should be a good benchmark for the young Panthers to see what it will take to climb their upper reaches of 5a in the future.
I honestly felt like Tuscola’s locker room would be an absolute mess after the skuttlebutt on the Hill this weekend and the game would be a disaster. I’m glad to see those boys put that behind them and went out and played their butts off to end the season.

Finally figured out the board! Great to be back posting again. I thought all the teams did well in Rd2. The Panthers have a very tall order in Rd 3. Hickory is 40-2 over the last 3 years. I would be encouraged if we kept it respectable. As with several teams in the conference we are young and will learn invaluable lessons this Friday. It would have had to have been in the 70s. I’m almost certain it never happened in the 90s and we weren’t very good in the 80s.
Ok, just going on memory(from when I was a kid
). I ruled out the 80s bc mathematically I knew we didn’t have a ton of playoff showings those years. I think only 88 and 89 which would have been Coach Wright’s first two years.
Guess if everything goes right this week we need to get up with Brevard to make sure we don't wear the same outfit to the party
