I think all the people who are doubtful have not been to the site and they are misconstruing what it’s saying. It’s not boards or forums, it’s a statistics database. An incredible site that I’m on constantly here in Ohio, so I’m mad it wasn’t enough for us to surpass Ohio State. With that context, it should be easier to understand why. Not many fan bases who delve deep into stats and analytics. Kentucky fans absolutely do.

Something as simple as a link on a popular site like Facebook or Twitter could skew results. If a notable Twitter person posts a Reed Sheppard stat… boom.
Then you factor in current NBA players, UK fan rabidness (in and out of state) and general fans looking up out of curiosity… it makes sense.

Oh I remember, but there's a couple key distinctions.
Caitlyn Clark, the best player in college basketball last year by a large margin, would sometimes use the John Cena "you can't see me" move after making big plays. She used it in the game leading up to the LSU title game. Angel Reese and LSU then went on to beat Iowa and Clark's team and Angel decided to use Clark's move against her and even continued to chase her around the court doing the move and doing several other gestures.
People made it political because what Angel Reese did was in much more poor taste, so they decided to turn it into a racial thing.
This wasn't really a Clark "thing" as much as it was Angel Reese being an ***, something she would sort of do again several more times, even being quietly suspended on LSU this year.
I believe the chart. Travel almost anywhere in the country and you will see UK shirts more than any other college.

I can’t recall Cal ever saying that, much less “always.” But whatever.
This only relates to basketball related gear. It’s certainly not the case when it comes to football and other sports.
I’d note that the chart doesn’t actually measure the number of fans, but rather the amount internet activity …searches, message boards and fan site visits, etc. …related to each basketball program.
Which makes the results considerably more believable. Fans of other CBB programs drop in on their boards during the season … but they don’t fanatically make a habit of it 365 days a year the same way UK fans have long been notorious for. Just one extremely devoted UK fan can easily account for the internet activity of 20 casual fans of another program.
At best, I can be about 10% in agreement with this. COULD if be entertained, or HAVE I been entertained by women's basketball? Sure. But given what I've seen, there's a very small chance and it would take a very specific situation.
I'm kinda in the same boat. Both teams need to be good (like UCONN vs UT back in the day) and then the product is watchable.
He has, especially when he makes coaching changes that someone might not like. One of his go tos. Hasn't used it this year yet.
I thought Duke might be no1 in New Jersey, but that’s all . Dukes perceived popularity is a mainly a product of espn hype .
I'm calling BS on the Miami team being followed the most in Illinois. Kentucky has become enormous here over the years. Tons of UK fans are now in the Chicago land, extending all the way down to the southern Illinois.
