Donnie has had 3 years.
It’s now his 4th year.
We ran for 3.7 ypc and scored on just 59% of redzone trips on the road.
Our OL didn’t get any better, Dana covered them up with low hanging fruit scheme adjustments with 6+ blocking every play.
His recruits are largely absent, nobody has improved their personal draft stock under him.
He is a mascot who is only employed because of his last name.
Seems these much needed transfer targets have little interest in playing for him, which sucks.
In the four games that Holgerson was OC, NU averaged 4.2 ypc. Michigan average 4.2 per carry, Texas 4.3 and Illinois 4.4. In terms of total offense, the average in these four games was 370. Plus or minus 20 yard from this number include teams such as BYU, Missouri, Florida, CU, Rutgers, Miss St, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Don't know about draft stock, but Ben Scott was hon mention all-conference two years in a row. Benhart was hon mention this year as well. Gottula, a Raiola recuit, started over half the season as a RS freshman. Someone had to get that kid ready to play. I would say Evans is playing above his projection and can certainly be counted as a Raiola developmental success. As far as transfer kids, Ben Scott played two years, Mazzuca started and then played quite a bit this year, he landed the kid from Bama and is still in on a kid from ND.
Raiola is not a "mascot" but a competent Oline coach who is early in his career. NU didn't have world beating Oline play last, but it wasn't the Oline's fault that backs couldn't find holes they were creating before Dana called them out and it wasn't their fault that the WR room was blocking for **** before Dana called them out. Holgerson was the guy who saw that of the backs, EJ had the greatest chance to be a dynamic runner. In fact, the Oline did pretty much what they had to do. And next year will be even better.
