Most Experienced Players Failed Offensively

We play two games a week. Sometimes one day a week. Players will get hurt because they get hurt, it has nothing to do with the minutes. In high school this kids play every day during AAU, sometimes twice a day during tournaments. Players are not tired and quite honestly could probably play the whole game given the light schedule.

The year Wilt Chamberlain scored over 50 points and 25 rebounds a game, he played in all 80 games and averaged 48.5 minutes, so he played every minute of every game, and all the overtime minutes. I think he may have been exerting himself a little bit harder than our Rutgers basketball team . . .

Can’t compare college to the NBA because in the NBA they regularly play 4 games a week, the games are longer and much faster. But in the NBA there is now ample evidence that load management has done nothing to reduce injuries, and there is even some evidence that it contributes to injuries, possibly because the players are not as well conditioned when they are playing less.
