Most disliked college ref....... GO:

I select Jimmy Burr. Glad he's retired. I cringed every time I saw him on the court!

Back in the Big East days there was a game at the RAC where it seemed every call he made was against RU. As they were leaving the court I yelled from 118 he should be ashamed of himself. He looked at me and suggested I do something that is anatomically impossible. I had to laugh. After that, it became the go to response by my seatmates for years whenever I complained about a call.

As much as Burr and Higgins pushed Rutgers fans to the edge, I’d love to have them do color work on a Rutgers broadcast and hear some of their comments on the officiating to see if it aligns with the officiating experts here that blame our losses on the Three Blind Mice.

I don't remember specifics but recall hating Higgins. He worked for some family business in NY - I sat at a wedding with a guy whose family owned the business and he worked with closely with HIggins. He told me Higgins said the RU fans (and I want to say Providence too) were the angriest fans and he didn't feel safe at the RAC.

Higgins used his full repertoire of calls against us. No one calls 3-seconds and “carrying the ball” anymore. He would on our guys, and always at a crucial point of the game. Higgins would have saved a cylinder violation call for a special moment and one of the dufus color guys, maybe Dan Dakich, would have applauded him for it ... relying on the always weak “it’s a point of emphasis this year” comment.

Friggin Burr. Whenever I think of that guy, I just picture him blowing the whistle after a block/charge call, creating all sorts of suspense, doing a little hop for 3 or 4 steps, and inevitably making the call against RU.

Best thing to happen was last year when the B1G Conference stated that TV Teddy Valentine was not allowed to officiate any B1G games.
most of the time Valentine annoys the hell out of me, however we had a game at home against U.Miami and Tim James hit a 3pt shot from the corner to seemingly send the game to OT and Teddy ruled that a part of his foot touched the 3pt line, ruled it a 2 and RU won the game. Cant recall having the replay so it was just Teddy's call. I never saw him run so fast to the locker room as i remember some miami people trying to hold others/james back from confronting him.

Winner by a mile: Burr. Higgins a distant but distinct second on the list.

Why the hate for TV Ted? He did have a tendency to make the game about him, but I never got the feeling he was obviously/purposely sticking it to RU.

Just before that Jonathan Mitchell was pushed out of bounds boxing out on a missed foul shot that St. John’s scores on.

That Miami game was on TV and the replay did show that his foot was touching the 3 point line. It was a classic.
