Without aid of Google, I remember the Huskers won 84-13 I think. I am positive of the 84 part. They scored 21 every quarter. Insane.
Didn't they cry about us running up the score? Even though our 3rd and 4th stringers were just running basic run plays. We were just that much better and deeper. Good old days.

Speaking of Minnesota, I just watched PJ Fleck on First Take. He was speaking on the riots/protests and such I believe, but it was too noisy where I was at to actually hear, which was nice to be honest.

Anyhow, the freakin’ joker is doing the interview sitting in a room with 10-12 footballs on separate shelves behind him, all with PJ Fleck and some random accomplishment plastered all over them. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad. JFC he has to be insufferable to deal with on a daily basis.

The play I most remember from the '83 Minnesota game is when the Gophers just "forgot" to cover Irving Fryar. He's split out to the left with nobody within 15 yards of him. So he and Gill just looked at each other and kind of shrugged their shoulders, and Gill took the snap and threw it to him for a walk-in TD.

And when I say walk-in, I mean from about 45-50 yards out.

It was a road game, so we didn't have as many backups as normal. Therefore, when our backups got tired (from scoring so much), we put our starters back in to give the backups a break.

At least that's how I recall it explained.

Of the current Big Ten schools, which football team have the Huskers played the most times to date (60)?

Even though he wasn't the coach in '83, Lou Holst has a story about the game, which led to his hiring for the '84 season. Funny stuff!
