Played in the WSU backcourt with Ron Baker, who also got in a couple of years of NBA service. Baker and VanVleet are from those basketball hotbeds of Scott City, Kansas and Rockford, Illinois. Gregg Marshall might be a bit of a screwball, but he knows how to find players.
