In Feb. of 1982 the Husker men's basketball team went on the road and beat the No. 1 team in the nation. What team was this?

NU did beat the number 1 ranked Cazzie Russell Michigan team but I'm pretty sure that was in Lincoln in the old Coliseum.

If memory serves me it was Hare. I just remember seeing a picture in the LJS catching him just as the ball left his hand.

Your memory is great! What I remember(and remember, I was 11) is that Fred went from kind of being the star to a back up when Stu Lantz arrived...

I just tried to find the picture but couldn't. I think it is in the NU media guides from the past, which was where I saw it. I was around when it happened, about your age, but not living in Nebraska. Came back to Lincoln 2 years later and a friend of the family gave me season tickets to the old barn. Been a huge Husker basketball fan ever since.

I was there wearing red. My Mizzou friends were not happy.

Missouri fans were not happy and the environment was getting fairly iffy. I recall Kent Pavelka whispering into the microphone for the final few minutes out of fear for his well being.
