I would be interested to see if any other 4 yr starter at a blue blood program or even power 5 school has accomplished so little during their tenure. He has yet to even achieve honorable mention all conference ... Maybe this year will be the first although his conference numbers would suggest he hasn't earned it ... 50% completion 7tds. 7ints
Not to quibble, what games did you miss this year? Where did you get your stats from? Tommy had 15 TD passes this year not to mention his running TDs. I don't think that makes him a candidate for all-conference or anything, but your data is wrong.

Those are his conference stats. All conference is generally based in play on conference games.

Apologize for not making that clear

I said he plays hard, he does. He is not a leader.
I kmow you are a big time armstrong fan and i dont like people blaming him for losses either, but he isnt a leader. Hes good at calling others out...pointing the thumb not so much.

I'm not there so I don't know...effort on the field tells me more about leadership.

How are you going to be a leader and you are not giving the maximum effort . ....you are not a leader just because of a vote...that's grade school
athletics.

He is not the Captain right? Well a team's attitude reflects it's leadership so you can't blame Tommy.

Nothing about the effort in the Iowa game reflects what we would expect from Tommy if he was our Captain.

All these passing records will be broke, if a true passer plays in Riley's system. One stat that never appears is Tommy's win/loss record.

Just trying hard doesn't make a leader either. It speaks volumes that he wasn't chosen a captain by the peers he would be leading.

For some reason TA is kissing some of those critical characteristics that a team looks for in leadership.

He had the most wins of any starting Power 5 QB until he got hurt.

4 year starting QB, second place on most of those lists is .....gasp another 4 year starting QB.

Exactly. If we had a kid that somehow started 5 years guess what....... he'd be the record holder for every one of those lines. Don't know what it was about Pelini and insisting that freshman start at QB and develop during live conference play but I'm sick of it.

Tmart at the end of his career was virtually indistinguishable, if not worse, than Tmart at the beginning of his career and I'm not sure that there was much difference with Armstrong. I am very hopeful our next QB will develop during his time here.

There were some season records in there too. I'm not saying he was All Conference, but he wasn't chopped liver either.

This thread is comparing the two worse QB to ever play at Neb. This has been 8 years of lawn darts.

Sick of it.

Ready for the Tanner Lee era to begin.

They just happened to get a lot of starts under a bad coach/staff. Riley had no choice since the cupboard was so bare.

The records these past two QB's have is meaningless.

They were top 125 QB's in the FBS and Neb fans deserve more than this.

Tmart was named all conference QB in the big. TA has yet to sniff an honorable mention participation ribbon
Only in the coach's team and that was because the coaches Urban had pissed people off so badly that nobody would vote for his QB. OSU's QB Braxton Miller was all conference by the writers as he should have been.

Martinez had a very good junior year. It's quite possible things would have been much different for him had he not injured his foot.
