He's had some surprisingly good gams and some surprisingly bad games. Today was a really bad one . He has to contribute , we cant rely on BG regardless of how well he played today . I believe MM will be a stud in the future , hes just young and not physically mature yet .
Other teams know to strip him after a rebound. He's weak with the ball. Something even average coaching can fix....

He's been soft all year. It's holding him back until corrected. He literally has NO HAND strength.
Yeah I’ve said a hundred times, he needs to stay in the weight room and keep a basketball and/or a tennis ball from now on. His hand strength and hand eye coordination isn’t good enough yet. He’s got the size to become a great player though as long as he will put the extremely hard work in. Love his potential a couple years down the road. I really hope he sticks it out here.

He’s a freshman playing his first game in the ncaa tournament. He’s going to be fine. Some awful harsh criticisms of him. Smh
I love the kid and don’t think it’s been as bad as it could be. Sometimes truth is just the truth. Nothing but love though and we need him to be tougher.

Moreno owes Oweh a bottle of something expensive. How he leaves his man WIDE open on the 3pt shot is wild.

If he takes the off-season seriously and busts his tail in the weight room, he will look like a different player. People forget young athletes get bigger , faster, and stronger.

What were his contributions today? Pope has a strange way of presenting a lineup. We never start at full strength.

I think it goes without saying that we need to shift more of Moreno's minutes over to Garrison. Split today was 25 minutes for Garrison and 20 for Moreno. I'd be inclined to shift even more in favor of Garrison moving forward. We're getting very little at all from Moreno. Been that way for awhile now. We don't win this game today without Garrison getting all those minutes. Give him more!

This coaching staff has failed this kid......
Did the coaching staff coach him to play like he has the hand strength of a 10 year old? What exactly is the coaching staff telling him to do to make him soft? I'd even wager a quarter or two that the staff is as upset with how soft he plays at times as we fans are.

Nick Richards had the exact same issues his freshmen and sophmore years. Some young guys just need time to strengthen up.

Actually when you look at the team as a whole they are so fundamentally flawed and it’s the end of the season. Can’t deny that’s on the coaches. Horrible footwork on both sides of the ball at every position. No blockout skills that I can find. The bigs have no basic moves around the basket. So it’s obvious these things are not being taught. It seems implausible that this is happening at Kentucky.

Normal freshman. He will get better in time.

Tyler from KSR had a nice interview with him and his brother and mom. His expectations coming to UK for the first year was to play very limited minutes behind BG and later on JQ . I think he exceeded expectations, however has his limits.

in the interview , he mentioned that NBA is one of his goals. To get there, as a coach , if I would be to give him or his brother an advice , if he stays more years at UK ( his dream school) , he will need to work on:
- legs strength, agility, balance , flexibility and explosiveness
- upper body and core strength with emphasis on fingers and forearm strength that will help him grab rebounds , and ball maneuverability
- footwork posting specific with counters
- shooting form . His brother was an excellent shooter. MM should be able to improve on this area but needs a little summer work where someone rebuilds his form and corrects his bad habits.

i love his progress and I would like him to stay with UK until he goes to NBA.

He has a great heart, good work ethic, family oriented. He did say that he likes to set goals and works towards them. That tells me that he has also a great mind and he will have a bright career and life ahead of him.

I am sure next year he will be improving even more after summer workouts.

Sometimes, I read posts and wonder if anyone is old enough to remember the trajectory of what a freshman to a senior year USED TO LOOK LIKE, and actually, I think the kid was thrust prematurely into a VERY difficult situation and has exceeded everything about his role with the team and this season. He's had expanded minutes because of the way it has gone.

He still has a learning curve to follow, he's ahead of the curve, seeing his struggles come as a freshman, hey, it happens. It comes with the territory. He is not coming into this season as a surefile lottery draft pick, so c'mon. be for real about him.

Truth be told, we have needed him to be the best version of himself all year long, because that's what we need from everyone this year.

Hoping he can break out of his late slump, and turn it on, for guys like him as well as my personal cap'n clutch time, CC, hope they can both step it up in the next game for us, and take us to the next level.

And I for one, will be very proud and happy to have them both back next year.

that is all

Go Big Blue !

Not only hand strength.... also hand placement. It's what the coaching staff is NOT doing that's enabling him to be soft. Really should have been addressed at the beginning and throughout the season. He should have improved, by this time of the year.
Film study, drills in practice, discipline (playing time) many ways to get a player to have success. Perhaps this could be a reason we have no recruits heading to Lexington.
