Been a reader of the board for many, many years. Finally decided that I could contribute. Just sharing some info that I found that you may or may not already know about. One of the writers for Scarlet Nation (Rutgers Message board) posted on their VIP site. Here is the gist of what he said:

“Scarlet Nation has learned that there is mutual interest between Rutgers and MSU Head Coach Joe Moorehead.” He went on to say that this is something that has been brewing for several weeks. Also said that his source told him that several current coaches on MSU’s staff are already looking for a landing spot for next season.

Now Steve is pretty much the only reporter that is adamantly denying this Rutgers thing, but I believe that there is more to the story. There is too much being talked about for there not to be something of substance there. Just wanted to share with you all. Thanks! Hailstate!

I still say Rutgers is a dead end job. And JoMo knows that. I'm guessing Schiano has told them no thanks to returning as head coach there.

Rutgers is probably a dead end job, but it's a P5 HC job, which is a way better than anything he could get if he continues his current trajectory at MSU. He may not even be able to get a good Power 5 coordinator job if he stays at MSU as it's his side of the ball that has struggled the most.

If Rutgers will give him a job paying something similar with a 4 year contract, he'd be crazy not to take it and restart his clock, unless he has decided he doesn't want to be a head coach anymore, in which case he can stay, take his eventual buyout, and go get an assistant job somewhere. I doubt that's what he's thinking though.

I'm not sure if the OP is for real, but if he is, I took the "several current coaches looking for landing spots" to mean they know Moorhead is leaving, not that they are bailing on Moorhead.

But mostly I'm not sure I trust the OP.

I don't know about you guys but I went to their football site and read all the stories they had about the coaching search and candidates and what they planned to pay. It's right there on the page. You ain't gotta be a Rutgers alum to find it. Personally I like to gather info before I speak on things. A few years back they had a good program. Seems like they plan on paying more than he is getting now. Its home for him. If I was him I would give it serious consideration. If he can win here he can win there easier. B1G is tough but not as tough as the SEC west

This is best of both worlds for our fan base right now. We are currently split with some saying he should be fired, and others saying he shouldn't. If he does end up getting this Rutgers job then both sides can rest easy with the outcome. For the ones that want him fired he is gone and no longer our problem, and for the ones that didnt want to fire him he left on his on accord so less harm to the program overall.

I was there for the walkoff against OM on super bulldog weekend, I was there when banks housed Tebow’s terrible pass. I went to google and typed in Rutgers football and read all kind of comments about their coaching search, comments from the college president, AD, info about how the fans want the AD fired over him hiring Ash. It's called the internet and it's full of news. Not all of it is real but there are tons of ways of doing research. This topic is from last week or week before. Not top secret files.
